Vikings look like a completely different team with the draft and free agent signings. I'll say it now, Vikings get their first Superbowl! (never too early for football hype, who do you think will hoist the Lombardi trophy?) ed. note, Shamrocked can't come in here and place the Steelers atop the NFL perch.

Just because the team looks different it doesn't mean that they are a great team.
Fred Smoot is a highly overrated CB. He's good but he doesn't have superior athletic ability or gifts, just gets buy on hard work and smarts. Just a couple years ago he was fighting even to make the team with the Skins.
Erasmus James was a terror down in Madison but when he was matched up agasint Pro Caliber lineman he got dominated. That's why he slipped in the draft.
Troy Williamson looks fast but he's not that tall. As much as I dislike Moss, Moss was a speedy, tall reciever who took demanded a double team and took the heat off Culpepper and made his job easier.
Until they get rid of Mike Tice I don't think they'll get to the superbowl. He's a decent guy, but he still thinks he's a player. You can't respect a coach like that.
Off the top of my head you're probably looking at New England, Philly and Atlanta again this year. I like Saban, so maybe the dolphins can become elite quickly, since the Dolphins have alot of talnet but Wannstedt was such a screw up coach.

Incidently,
I think Aaron Rodgers will be a huge bust for the Pack, even with the fact that he slipped in the first round.
Basically a wasted first round pick for the Pack. Rodgers is a 3rd round caliber type pick at best.
The Pack are gonna be bad for a long time.

The Steelers had a great draft...and the Vickings will not even make the playoffs.

Yeah, I really liked what the Steelers did. Miller will help out big time.

The Steelers had a great draft...and the Vickings will not even make the playoffs. The third or fourth year in a row that my team has actually taken the player I wanted with their first pick! I'm stoked. I was pissed when Pittsburgh gave up on Mark Bruener, and Jay obviously wasn't the answer. Matt Cushing makes a better fullback, so now the Steelers have basically replaced Plaxico with a big, pass-catching fullback ala Todd Heap and Tony Gonzales. I for one think it works great. He'll be a better situational blocker than an every down blocker, but he opens the offense up so much. Now that we have a true, blue chip quarterback we're ready for a player like Heath "Big Money" Miller.
And now that the Vikes look stacked on defense they're without their biggest offensive weapon. Should be interesting.

I knew my boy Shamrocked couldn't resist! I loved the selection of Miller, not to mention the name sake. I was intrigued by the first round selection by Jacksonville in nabbing the versitle QB from Arkansas. Freakish talent, but where to put him? Joey Harrington and Kyle Boeller have weapons up the ass. No excuses anymore, its time to shine or go wash cars. If Marino had half the offensive fire power the ravens now have, he would've doubled Tark's records. Matching that defense, I'm excited!

Id put Jones at WR,I loved watching him at Arkansas. He is 6'6 242 and still runs a 4.37 and has a 39 inch vertical. Id try and get him to drop a few pounds and see if he may get a lil quicker with more moves. HE is a project though for being picked in the first round. HE is very competitive though.

two words baby: Brett Favre. I think this may be his last year. I think I'll head to Lambeau for some Bratwurst and a game. Anyone coming?

Hey, it wouldn't be any fun if you gave up hope. http://mmafighting.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif
If all the planets are aligned and somehow, some way they end up winning, hopefully it's someone else's favourite team and they're as nutty as you are so they can pick up the slack. http://mmafighting.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

No matter what happens to the Vikings they did the right thing. Over the past several years the better teams in the NFL have been able to score at will against them. When a team like Detroit and Arizona are capable of running a 2 minute offense to score game winning drives you know you've got serious problems.
I'm very excited about the new look Vikings. My only concern (as Bruce Lee mentioned) is how Daunte is going to handle the added pressure and if they're going to be able to run the ball now that teams won't have to double cover Moss.
Go Vikes!
