I watched the Japanese delayed broadcast, which unfortunately doesn't show the complete match. From what I saw, it looked close. Both fighters landed good punches to the head. Nog landed one that nearly dropped Shogun, but he recovered nicely. It seemed that Shogun was more active in the final round and landed bigger shots that led to the 3-0 decision.

Very close fight but Shogun's takedowns tipped the scale to him.
The most interesting part of Shogun's game was his Fedor's impersonation while punching on Nog's guard. A great fight where minor details could have tipped the scale to one side or the other.

Shogun deserved the win. I was impressed by his ground skills.

I would of probably gave the first round to Nog but the Shogun definitely won the others. The fight didn't disappoint at all.

First round was Nog's and I think he missed the chance to finish Shogun after the knowdown, round 2 was even with a small edge to Shogun and three was clearly Shogun's.
The only disappointment was Igor vs. Overeem as it was really too quick the other three fights were very good.

Yeah. I really didn't think that fight would end in submission. Props to Overeem though.
I just saw the fight tonight, and it was extremely close. I thought Nogueira was winning going into the 3rd round, but it was tight. Shogun clearly had the advantage in third round though, with the knockdown he scored, and the damage he did on the ground. In a fight this close, its tough to argue the decision. It could have easily been a split decision because the 2nd round was so even, but I don't think anyone got robbed by a unanimous decision being given instead of a split decision.
With all that said, it was a great fight. A re-match would definitely be something I'd like to see.

i'd really like Pride to mix it up more within the ranks of the LHW division. it's ridiculous how long Arona and Silva have been competing within the same division and have never fought. that's a necesary fight with or without the tourney results. challengers like Nog, Arona, Overeem, Vovchanchyn, Sobral, Liddel, Couture, are the type of fighters who should be fighting one another . enough of Pride's Japan vs the World vision of sak, then kondo, then tamura, then minowa, then yoshida, then nakamura all getting shots at Silva.

I agree. Ideally, it should be the best fighters against each other, but I guess we have to accept the Japanese reality for now.
