Im at a loss for words after watching that game. Neither team played too well to say the least. LSU had that game and should have put it away in the first half. I give big props though to TN for coming back and hanging in there. Russell can make the most amazing plays at times, like against ASU. Then, the next week he can kill you. He played horrible this week. I think they should have kept Addai in the game and gave him the ball more. There goes any hopes for a National Title. This is just a ****ty year for Louisiana period! Ill always back LSU 100%. Maybe now there wont be so much pressure?

I was SO happy at halftime. LSU up 21-0 over TN!

Needless to say, by the end of the game, I felt completely nauseated. How do you blow a 21 point lead.....at home? Jamarcus Russell made the boneheaded play of the year by trying to run the ball right before the half, with no time-outs, disallowing a field goal. Throw the ball away, take your 3 points, and go into the locker room up 24-0! Then Russell throws a beautiful 4th quarter touchdown......to the wrong team.

Did the teams swich jerseys at halftime?

Well, I guess TN has found their quarterback.....again. Sooner or later, they will have to stick with either Ainge or Clausen. I think it's pretty safe to say that Ainge won't see much action in the next UT game unless Clausen has a complete come-apart.

Who is MY favorite team you might wonder?---Whoever is playing against Tennessee! Next week, Go Rebels! :-D

Wow, you really hate them Vols? I was so disappointed last night. Im still in pain. I think LSU was burnt out on emotion and just couldnt rise to the challenge like Tn did. I just hate how the commentators kept making sure everyone knew that Tn flew in on game day. Woopty ****in do. I know that was a factor in their slow start. Try losing your entire city and then having to play football. Im not using that as an excuse, cause no matter what you have to step up and play. Yeah, Russell was horrible, plus I hate Jimbo Fishers play-calling. Never did like him much. Damn this sucks. Id like to see Perrilloux get in there one game. This kid has serious potential.

It also seemed to me like LSU was playing the first half on an emotional high. I guess the defense was just gassed in the 2nd half, because in the first half, they looked unstoppable.

I hate to say it, but once LSU lost that first half momentum, it was over. I knew after TN scored their second TD (to make it 24-14) that they would come back. Even if you looked at the first half stats, TN's time of possession was over 18 minutes. Even though LSU dominated the 1st half, the defense had to already be getting tired.

I hate the outcome, I hate the Vols, but hey--what a game! This is what makes me LOVE college football. These games aren't over until the clock reads 00:00. And I especially love the SEC--what a STACKED conference!

I honestly dont think any team can go undeated in the SEC. Not even USC. SEC has 4 legit top ten caliber teams. You have to be on every weekend. LSU was on a high in the first half. Its just when Tn came back and started to fight back. LSU didnt have enough in them to fight back with. A lot of times when you rely on emotion it will either carry you through or it just drains you. They werent able to step it up. They should have never quit running with Addai. That was a dumb call in OT when they handed the ball to Hester on first down. Addai just broke a good run. Keep getting him the ball. I like Miles though. I think he will be an excellent coach. LSU has tons of talent, they just need the mental strength, a steady QB, and a better offensive coordinator.

I agree with you about the SEC. NO TEAM, including USC in my opinion, could go undefeated in the SEC. Every team has an "off" day where they just don't play as well as they could. In the SEC, that equals a loss. With teams like Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, LSU, Alabama.....any of these teams can beat you on any given Saturday. The thing that KILLS the SEC in the rankings is the fact that they all cancel each other out by beating each other. The SEC is, by far, the most competitive conference out there. And by the way, who knows how good USC is anyway with that "gravy" schedule they have. The toughest teams on their schedule are Oregon, Arizona State, and Notre Dame. By the way, I'm also a pretty big Irish fan and I'm going to the Notre Dame/USC game in South Bend. I'm hoping for the best, but with Notre Dame's poor pass defense going up against Matt Leinhart, this one could get ugly quick. But, it's college football---you never know! By the way, I agree with you about Addai, that guy looks great.

Wow, J will, thats great. I bet Notre Dame games live are amazing. Ive only been to two LSU games. Saturday night in Death Valley is an awe-inspiring feeling. By the way, Im also a big Irish fan. As a kid I was die hard Notre Dame. I use to wanna play college football for either LSU or Notre Dame. Notre Dame is by far college footballs greatest tradition.

Belfort, this is great! It's so nice to find someone else on here who has the same compassion for college football, not to mention another Irish fan. You know, my passion really lies in the SEC, I'm also an Arkansas fan. I was actually at the LSU/Arkansas game last year the day after Thanksgiving. It was a cold, blistering November day and LSU whipped Arkansas. The game was in Little Rock. It was the first game I had been to in that stadium--it's really no bigger than a high school stadium. Even though Arkansas got pummeled, I loved being there. I try to go to at least 1 or 2 SEC games a year, and watch the rest on tv. Man, if you ever want to talk college football, I'll be around. ;)

College football is as good as it gets. Nothing beats big time college football. I know how you feel about college footbal j will. I agree as well. SEC is my favorite conference to watch. Not just because of LSU, plain and simple. Year in and year out they have the best, most competitive conference. I think they need a playoff system and use strength of schedule. Its just not fair to the SEC who beat each other up all year, then play a conference title game. The ACC is right up there too this year with Va Tech, FSU, and Miami. Nothing is more fun that the college atmosphere. The crowds are the best and the passion the kids play with is lost for the most part int he pros. I can sit in front the TV all day saturdays for college football.

Sportsgenius, that's unbelievable you were at that game! I can't believe that those two teams had never played each other before? Were you pulling for Texas, Ohio State, or just there for the party? Either way, that had to be fun!

Belfort, at least you get a "break" this week against Miss. State. I'm hoping Florida vs. Alabama turns out to be a good game. However, my eyes will be on Notre Dame vs. Purdue. I also want to see TN vs. Ole Miss--probably won't be much of a game, but those two teams are fun to watch. Well guys, I'm sure we can talk more college football after this weekend. Go Irish! :-D

i'm a student at OSU so needless to say i was cheering for the Buckeyes....I was pissed we lost but we played really well. The general consensus around Columbus is that if we win out and Texas is the only undefeated team left then the voters and the BCS would have no choice but to put us against each other in the National Championship. Texas being the only undefeated left takes a lot of work but I think it's possible. We'll take them the second time. Once we figured out how to stop Young on his feet we took the game over. Second time around he'll never get to take off like he did in the first quarter and Hawk and Carpenter will demolish him.

And I know this a bit of bias but A.J. Hawk really deserves Heisman consideration. He's ridiculously good and it's a shame when the media will recognize a QB from Toledo or a RB from Northern Illinois or whatever before they even consider the best defensive player in the nation for the Heisman trophy.

The Heisman is slowly becoming a joke. Basically the trophy is just an award to the QB of the #1 team in the country now.

Or to the RB of the #1 team (AKA Reggie Bush), who I think will probably end up getting it this year. I agree with you about Hawk. That guy is amazing. I wouldn't worry too much--guys like A.J. Hawk end up signing multi-million dollar contracts in the pros. In my opinion, he'll be worth it. Man, I'm really pulling for USC to get beat right now. I'm hoping Arizona State can upset them this weekend, but I doubt they will. I really don't want to see USC in another national championship game! Personally, I'd love to see Texas vs. Ohio State in the national title game. You're right about Vince Young though--if you can keep him in the pocket and not let him scramble, your chances for victory are a lot greater. Good luck to your Buckeyes--they should beat up on Penn State in two weeks. ;)

thanks man

Mel Kiper's draft board has Hawk at #2, Bobby Carpenter at #17 and center Nick Mangold at #24.

I'm just a little upset that Young got all that hype over the TD that beat us. He threw the ball up to a reciever that had close to 6" on our DB. It was basically a chuck and jump play. Vince is good but I just hate how he could've had the EXACT same stat line against us but had we won he would've been a bust. It's all relative I suppose. I'm cheering for them until the end because I either want to play them for the championship or be able to say that we only lost to the champs.
