From UFC.TV
LAS VEGAS – It wasn’t the type of injury anyone expects a mere day and a half before a fight, but while engaging in light sparring Thursday night for his fight at UFC 58 against Tom Murphy, Christophe Midoux took a knee to the stomach and suffered a hernia, forcing him to a local hospital and rendering him unable to compete in Saturday’s bout at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

OMG another injury, but at least the fight is still on.

Talk about timing, we made the same thread at the same time.

larenas has potential. tony talked about him before when he covered a tko show and he is the tko hw champion right now. why not find a replacement for diego? still mad since they cancelled the fight.

yeah, I noticed.

Predator,
I was thinking the same thing, why werent they able to find a replacement for Diego when they had more time. The only thing that I can think of is that they didnt have anybody clear to fight but they usually have back up plans.

Icho's a monster. The first time I saw him he KOed his opponent right into my lap as I was ring side taking photos. Me and the photographer next to me stopped him from smashing his face into the ground.

Since then I've been a little suspect of Icho to be totally honest. His standup isn't very technical and I question his cardio. Still, he's got a huge heart and will always be looking to bring the fight to his opponent. This should be a fun one!

Neither of these guys are event remotely deserving of being on a UFC event. If this fight makes it onto the PPV above any of the others I'm gonna be stinkingly pissed. I can't understand why they couldn't use a legit American HW with a record of more than one fight. Midoux was probably the best Canadian HW out there, even tho he's less than mediocre. This fight belongs on the next edition of "Bum Fights".
