Is it easy to get hurt in the groin doing Jiu Jitsu without a protector?

The main reason I wear one is so I can armbar with confidence.

From a self-defense perspective using the cup as a fulcrum is probably not quite kosher unless you wear one 24x7.

The first time a guy accidently drops a knee in your groin, you're gonna be glad you're wearing one.

I agree on the knee statement. Some passes involve placing a knee over some1s thigh. Which at times have fallen in the wrong places. I wear one, and so do most of the people i role with. Ive went the majority of the time w/o one w/o getting hurt but you never know. Better just play it safe.
