Let's say you could choose any fighter in the world to be your MMA coach. Who would you choose and why?

I'd choose Tito with GSP a close second.
I choose Tito because I've never seen anyone care more about his students. He may/may not be the greatest fighter, but it seems that he has the connections to get the best trainers.
Also, he just seems like a cool guy that I'd want to hang out with.

I only had ten options, but feel free to say someone else.

Pat Miletich. I wouldn't let Shamrock clean my pool after his TUF performance. After Tito beats him again he wouldn't be qualified either way.

Franklin...I think he always has a rock solid game plan and after seeing Gurgel be able to stand toe to toe with Hominick for 3 rounds that must be a fantastic place to train.

I'd go live with Fedor and his brothers, the greatest MMA training 24/7. Oh man, that would be awesome!

Tito in a heartbeat...
He is constantly motivating...pushing...he has a vast knowledge and understands conditioning...
Why Fedor?...besides being the best fighter in the world...

If you've seen any clips from Fedor's documentry you'd understand. Training for these guys isn't just at the gym on a schedule, it's a way of life. The Emlianenko brothers practically train all day long, they live, breath, eat, and bathe in fighting. There is nothing that could be more motivating then what these guys do.
GSP for sure. Almost every Canadian fighter I have seen is tough. The Crow Cote. They must be doing something right where they train. He is the best and the world is going to know it real soon!

Agreed.
Also, the opportunity to train with one of the hands down best fighters in the world today, is not something I would pass up to go train with a "Tito level fighter."

Sadly, i think Hughes. I like his work ethic, I could understand what he is saying, he has the skills I dont have, and i think he would push me to my breaking point.

i choose wanderlei silva, it will be awsome to go to curitiba and train with him and the ruas.
I'd like to train with the Chute Boxe camp for a couple of years.
Good pole.
The choices are all good, but my choice goes to Franklin. I saw the show about how he preps for his fights, and I think that would really come in handy if one were to be serious about competing in the ufc. He obviously knows how to fight so his knowledge would definatly be enough to teach me how to apply subs and how to strike properly.
My 2nd choice would be Gracie because they are the experts in jui-jitsu.
The other problem with some of the other great fighters would be the language barrier.

Thats a tough question. The first 3 names that popped into my head were Shogun Rua, GSP and Rich Franklin. Fedor seems like he should be the ideal choice, however, I suppose it should be how well a coach matches up with his fighter. I have aspirations of becoming a fighter and I envision myself in the mold of GSP.

Antonio Carvalho for sure. We'd train and then go pick up some ladies.

I think Tito would be a great choice. He seems like he cared about how well the people on his team did and I think he would really push you to do your best. I would also like to train with BJ Penn. I would love to learn BJJ from him and his stand up is good as well.

I would have said Bas if he was on the list but I went with Fedor.

LIke tony said tito because of his connections. With tito you have wrestling and cardio down, he brings in some of the best bjj fighters out there and brings in good proven trainers. You get the chance to train with the best in the world.

For the pole I picked Tito, with Franklin being my second choice. If I had my choice though, id train with Yves. I love his striking and I feel that would be my best attribute. Yves is also great on the ground.

i think the top 2 would have to be franklin who i chose and second would be ortiz. i gave the edge to franklin because hescurrently a champion and i like the idea of training with a champ. but ortiz really surprised me with what an excellent coach he is. his other coaches are top notch and bring a lot as well. i dont know much about fedors coaching ability but i dont think its smart to chose him simply cause hes the best. a good fighter doesnt neccesarily make a good coach. and who wants to live in russia.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. That's Fedor's home, it isn't a gym he travels to, he lives there. Instead of carpet the man has ****ing wrestling mats in his house! Come on! ;)

Fedor because he's the best fighter in the world.
Sakuraba because he's the greatest legend in the history of the sport.

Why wold anybody not choose Fedor?
a guy like tito love's to train kids. fedor is in his own world he's to busy trainnig for his own fights to train others. fedor has a full plate. not saying i wouldn't jump on the next flight to russia.

I'd pick Fedor because he helped some fighters to upset wins plus he's done pretty well for himself.

Of the choices listed I picked Franklin. He has solid overall skills that I believe are teachable. A guy like Fedor is a bit of a freak of nature. I don't know how much you could actually pick up from him. It would be like Igor Vovchanchyn trying to teach you his style of punching. It is the kind of thing that would only work for him. Bas Rutten would be an excellent choice of trainer.

For those doubting Fedor's teaching abilities, look what he's done with Roman Zentsov ever sice Roman joined Fedor's team.

I would say BTT / Chute Box ... but the language barrier would be difficult. Same goes for training with Fedor, I need the communications w/out a translator.
Militech, you have to go to Iowa ... umm, no.
I'd have to go with Tito from what I saw on TUF (and i'd never thought I'd say that). You know he'd have you in shape, Sol would sharpen your boxing, and Dean would show you some slick ground moves. Hard to go wrong there.
Ideally though, I'd train BJJ with Nog, do a little wrestling w/ Tito, head over to Chute Box to work on my striking/chin, and then do some sparring with Fedor to test myself. :)

:)
Are you going to train or go on a vacation? I personally think Iowa would be a great place to train. Free of distraction. Not to mention you'd get to train with not only Pat, but 2 other champ in Hughes/Silvia. I'm a bit biased being a midwest country boy perhaps, but you cant argue with the results of the Militech camp.

I would choose either Rich Franklin or Bas Rutten/Tito ortiz.
I chose Rich first because look at Jorge Gurgel(sp?). He trains with rich franklin and the kid had good striking, we didnt see anything else but i hope we can in the future. I think Rich Franklin is a very good instructor. he has knowledge of the sport and he knows to explain things well(because he was a teacher).
In second I would have Bas Rutten as my striking and strength coach. I would have Tito as my conditioning and grappling/gnp coach. Dean lister as my BJJ coach

Bas Rutten for strength/striking and submissions.
Tito for cardio training from hell and grappling.
I like Miletich too, look at his success as a trainer.
His team rolled over everyone in the IFL.

I too woulda picked El Guapo, hands down. But the idea of training with Chute Box is the most appealing, so I'd go with Silva.
