Just finished watching the show on Foxs Sport Net and I am happy! ;)

Pride, Boxing, K1, UFC etc

*Spoilers below*

Write up on the show: http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/5721378

Take a look at Best Damn's picks for its Top 50 beatdowns.

BEST DAMN BEATDOWNS
Some of the best, click for the video previews:

Beatdown: Where am I?
Fighters sometimes fall to the mat and forget where they are. This man fell to the mat and may have forgotten everything - courtesy of James Toney.

Beatdown: KO me, please
In what can only be explained as a momentary lapse of sanity, Nate Campbell stands perfectly still and practically begs Robbie Peden to knock him out. Mission accomplished.

Beatdown: Body punch
Nothing like a lethal body blow to take an opponent out of the fight. Watch Phil Baroni land a lethal punch, followed by the inevitable knockout.

Beatdown: Knockout by foot
The very first punch of the fight isn't a punch at all - It's an expertly executed foot square to the face. Even the referee is impressed.

Beatdown: Sleepy time
When a man winds up like Popeye - you know you're in trouble. See the aftermath of a man who falls so flat - it's almost comical.

Beatdown: Through the ropes
Down, but not out? No, down and out. Chester Hughes is on the attack, and he literally knocks Ray Sefo right out of the ring to prove it.

that list is whacked, the liddell KO of babalu was so brutal, much more brutal than the one of vernon white, where he just taped him and knocked him out. they need to switch the order around of alot of those

how do you have a list of beatdowns without having Vitor completely owning wanderlei on it?

or Vitor v Eastman or Rampage v Arona or Fedor v Nog

They missed a lot but the ones they did put in were pretty good cept the afformentioned Liddell v White KO which wasn't that great.

Still I liked the show though but the last time I saw the best damn sports show Tom Arnold, DeMarco Farr, some other fat dude, and Kruk was still on...actually Kruk had just left the show...am I even spelling his name right? LOL

I watched it last night. Their list was way off. How could Vitor/Silva not be on that list? Tank vs Wersham/Matua should have been on. Liddel/Mezger. Also, more Tyson KOs should have been on. Some of those boxing KOs in the 20's were really brutal and should have been higher. I dont remember if it was Duran or Cuevas, but Hearns brutally KOs both. One was a little more. That should have been on. I thought more Mirko KOs would have been on there. Gomi has had some wicked KOs. All in all it was fun to watch. Just a very skewed list. Mirkos KO of Igor was brutal!

this is stupid, how can they put boxing moments and MMA moments togather and rank them. it's a bit silly to me.

A brutal KO is a brutal KO. Be it boxing or MMA. Also, Franklin/Quarry should have been on. Pride was very well represented, I think they were trying to hype up Pride. Which is fine.

Chuck's KO of Gay Mezger was one of the most brutal KO's in MMA history.

I also like Brad Kohler's.

the reason why, Mirko's KO of Igor is # 1 on the list is b/c it was done by an awesome kick. you can't kick in boxing. that's why in judging the two sports, you can't use the same criteria.

Ah, I think you just uncovered the reasons for DGs anymosity towards Guy. DG is jealous that Guy and not he was named Texas most eligible batchelor.

Also, more Tyson KOs should have been on. Some of those boxing KOs in the 20's were really brutal and should have been higher.Strange thing was: They said that for a KO to qualify it had to have been shown on Fox Sport Net or Fox.

I don't recall the UFC ever having been aired on either... :?:

As for the Crocop topper, I actually thought that the win against Alexsander was more badass. That said, I bet Igor's head hurt for quite awhile after that! Maybe he called Alex with some advice to take his mind of that pain! :)

I remeber watching an old school Jack Johnson fight on ESPN, and he absolutely smashed some poor fool. Basically, he got knocked down, was pissed, and threw a haymaker of doom. After the hit landed, teeth were embedded in Jack's gloves, and he had to wipe them off. Anyway, I think that is about as brutal as it gets.

IMO Yves Edwards' ko over Josh"the punk" Thompson should have been on that list, Leben/Silva should be climbing that list as well.....what an ass kicking.

Some of the boxing ko's way down the list were much more brutal than the top winners. Several did the full Ric Flair face to the mat drop.

Nice list but what about...

Abbott/Nelmark- Everyone thought Tank had killed Nelmark because of the unatural way Nelmark had collapsed.

Yvel/Goodridge- The single quickest high kick KO in history.

Vovchaynchyn/Nutter 2- Brutal with a capitol B! The bell rings, Nutter goes in for the double leg takedown, Igor times it and slams his knee into Nutter's face.

W. Silva/Rampage Jackson- I will never forget Jackson laying unconscious on the ropes with blood pouring out of his face.

Hansen/Azzerado- Hansen rearranged Azzerado's nose in cringing fashion.

Marciano/Louis- If you watch those old fight films, when Marciano knocked someone out, they were out cold. Often you will see a fighter knocked down and unable to continue but it less common to see someone completely laid out. When Marciano knocked someone out they were out.

Maskaev/Rahman- Awesome out of the ring KO.

Tommy Morrison/Razor Ruddock- Morrison literally lifted Ruddock off of his feet and flat on his back with the most brutal uppercut I have ever seen.

Edit. Oops, Yvel/Goodridge was on the list.

What about Frye vs. Takayama. To me that is still the most prolonged jaw dropping beating I have ever seen, primarily because the Hawt One refuses to go down. What it lacks in "down" it more than makes up for in "beat."
