As a Jiu Jitsu practicioner, Im curious as to what grappling backs you use as a reference to supplement your training and what you would recommend.

I have
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu: Theory and Technique - Renzo Gracie and Kid Peligro (highly recommended tho poorly organized)
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Basics - Gene Simco (very good book for pure beginners and intermediate white belts...this probably shouldve been my 1st book before Theory and Technique)
Submission Grappling - Royler Gracie and Kid Peligro (moderatly recommended for the no-gi people but alot of it is applicable w/ the Gi)

I just put in an order for Judo Unleashed; i have 1 semester left of college and I'll be joining the judo team...ive been pwning some of the team members on the ground but i get thrown like a rag doll during randori.
and "The Essential Guard" cause Ive been having trouble for the past month from both the top and bottom.

Any recommendations?

Shimewaza from the Judo Masterclass series by Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki. All the books in the series I would highly recommend, this was the first one I bought.

A-Z of Judo by Syd Hoare. Not used it much yet.

Ju Jitsu Unleashed by Eddie Bravo. It OK, some of the techniques couls have done with better pictures, especially one of the guard passes which I tried repeatedly but always got triangled for my efforts because it did not show a crucial detail. Eddie is a dick though.

Passing the Guard and the guard by Ed Benville, both excellent purchases and should be in everyones library.

I have a ton of intructions illegally dl too. but thats another thread entirely.

I don't find vids or books helpful at all. I have to have first hand experience, so my muscles can memorize the motions. Besides, most grappling vids and books are more expensive than a month at a gym or dojo.
