For those that didn't get to see it. Man watch Hughes face, he was giving props to GSP, pumping up the next fight and GSP drops the bomb. Matt was not freakin happy, holy crap. That was funny. Also I don't think that was scripted at all, I think GSP came out of the crowd and just said that.

I think he did too. GSP doesn't speak english well enough to talk ****. It was kind of a joke. However, I agree with St Pierre. I wasn't impressed at all either...

I mean no disrespect, but was another thread on this necessary? We've been discussing this issue (along with everything else Hughes/GSP/Penn related) on numerous other threads.

That was all Dana behind that. You can tell GSP doesn't want to do it. He kept shaking Matts hand and trying to hug him after. It's all for show.

You're very right, and like Rogan said I'm sure stuff like that sells PPV's.
I heard Matt was really pissed off after the fight backstage. Can anone confirm? Or is it possible we are all making something out of nothing?

There is no bad blood between GSP and Matt Hughes.

Watch his post fight interview from UFC.com you will see them laughing and shaking hands.

when GSP first walks up to matt, matt looks gsp in the eyes and gsp shakes his head.that seems to me like disrespect rather then scripted GSP. also GSP was pissed off in loiseaus corner. I would be pretty pissed if I was in loiseaus corner also.

You can also hear someone in the background yelling 'gotta sell tickets, gotta sell tickets' during that clip.

Seriously, GSP looked awkward telling Matt he wasn't impressed ... I'm sure Dana put him up to it.

GSP didn't look comfortable at all, his voice was almost cracking getting the words out. That was not real feelings or comments. I chalk it up to Dana wanting some fireworks and pushing GSP to do it but it didn't look like he clued Matt in on it--on purpose. As far as **** talking, one of Hughes corners was talking more **** back to GSP than either Rush or Matt did to each other. The Miletich team obviously can't take a joke or spot a p.r. move to capitalize on it. Matt did however arrogantly blow off GSP in his challenge by channeling the memory of Trigg.

I know that GSP english has improved and it sounded like it he was just told to go up there and say that. The post fight one was true to the bone for Matt. He sadi exactly what would happen and it did, just not that soon in the 3rd round. He's giving props to GSP being his next fight and it's going to be a good fight baby.

There's like three other threads on this topic.

Why isnt it safe to assume that Dana was behind it all? GSP has a track record of being very courteous humble fighter.

Matt was not freakin happy

I'm no facial expression expert, but whats the big hype? I didnt see Matt turn into Nick Diaz or anything like that. At this point, Matt could care less what the critics think. And also, what if he knew GSP was going to say that?

I'll see GSP at the TKO weigh-ins tomorrow and let you know what he has to say.

Actually yes, another thread was warrented because many people did not get to see the video of what happened and had blown it all out of proportion.

yeah and that type of thing is way out of character for GSP, I was actually very surprised when he said that.

Maybe he will jump in the cage and cut a promo on a TKO fighter. :-D

Hey speaking of that, has GSP given up his TKO belt? Robby?

GSP's belt is pretty much going to be permanently his. I can't see Patry making him defend it while he's such a big player in the UFC.

Even if he makes a title defense, which seems unlikely, who would TKO bring in that could beat GSP. The only way he's losing that belt anytime soon is if he's stripped eventually due to inactivity.

I don't see that happening anytime soon though. With the relationship between TKO and the UFC seemingly getting closer by the day, I can almost envision a day when he defends his Canadian championship on a UFC show in Montreal. With the TKO championship potentially becoming a UFC Canada type belt. Just a thought, perhaps it's way out there, but perhaps not...

Actually, lets take that a step further. If....and its a big if...GSP could beat Matt Hughes for the UFC belt, it would be smart marketing for him to carry both the UFC and TKO belts to the ring and be the first international mult-promotion champion. Both promotins could use him to promote themselves. He could do public appearances for TKO as a p.r. local legend and then UFC could run a show in Canada with him headlining and use TKO guys on the undercard which should pop the frozen north big time. I don't see Dana letting him fight on a non-UFC show if he is a UFC champion but that could be dealt with per the above.

Tony...you writing all this down? Its money! :)
