I was wondering if there are any recent updates regarding Frank Mir; his training, conditioning, upcoming fights, etc.

I've been watching some of his fights and highlights the past couple days, and I really want to see Mir back in good shape. I really don't think he reached his full potential as a fighter, but I'm sure if he gets back on track and can retain his place in the top ten.

He's fighting on the next UFC PPV card, against Brandon Vera.

I saw him at the local KFC the other day, he is competing in the Coney Island Hot Dog Contest in July. :-D

He says he will be eating more KFC now that they have taken the trans fat out of their chicken. :cool:

Im not sure what to expect with Mir. He had better have taken this fight seriously though and come prepared. Mir has talent, he just needs to get serious.

LOL, Xyience needs to give him some fat burners. If he comes in like a slob again, with another can like performance I sure hope the UFC wont bring him back. I hope he comes in prepared, this could be a great match up or a snoozer.

I agree. I have most of the UFC DVDs so I play em back often before my workouts. Mir comes off very intelligent, like a thinking fighter in his interviews and commentaries. He's also extremely confident with the way he submits guys... but after he got into that accident, it's like that "eye of the tiger" is gone...

If the out of shape mir shows up to fight Vera, Mir is as good as done. I really like Mir and I used to enjoy him a lot. He is well spoken and had a lot of potential. Does anybody know what he looks liek right now? I guess we will see in the weigh-ins.

If Mir is in shape and has a good head, this will be a hell of a fight.

However, if he isn't, it's gonna be pretty bad.

Notice he is training in a cage with the Old UFC Logo on the Mat. This could give it away as an older pic or that is just the cage he trains in

It would be great for UFC of course if Mir could come back in great shape, and retain some of the form, if not better form than he had before his motorcycle wreck. I'm not his biggest fan but I'm cheering for the guy because I too believe he has/had? a ton of potential.

If he never makes it back, chalk up another athlete's career ruined by a motorcycle accident, amongst other things I'm sure...
