Anyone have any experience with fight shorts?

I am ordering a pair and am confused about the sizing aspect of them.

I would assume I wear a medium (my singlets, grappling shorts, etc have all been Mediums) but on the sizing chart it says that 30-32 is a small. Then it says someone who is 5'9" and weighs in the 160 range is probably a medium (on the high side of medium).

Which size fits? Anyone know? I'd hate to blow money getting some of these only to find out they're way too tight. Then again, I wouldnt want a baggy fit either.

Dude, you HAVE to try them on. they all fit differently and they all suck at describing the size. I thought most companies went by waist size, not SMLXL.

maybe try finding a review online that says how true to fit they are.

The site I'm looking at (mmauniverse.com) has each brand listed "true to size" except one (and I'm not looking at that brand)

I want to get a pair and see how they fair in training as compared to grappling shorts. No real place for me to "try on" a pair of them, so I'm gonna have to decide.

I'm 5'9" and weigh 155-170ish (depending on how close to a fight I'm at) and have a 32(ish, maybe a touch smaller) waist. The site says 30-32 is a small, and 33-36 is a medium. Ok. So by that, I'm a small.
But on their height chart - it shows me as a medium (on both the high and low sides, etc)

I was hoping someone had experience trying these things on and knew a bit about them :( I dont want to blow money.

Funny you ask. I was asking Shammy and others last night as I was online buying a pair from FCF website. I guess I'll find out.

I'm slightly taller but same weight and I wear a medium or 32 in grappling/fight short when I cut to 145...

I went with the medium. Hopefully it pans out well. If not, the shorts do have a draw string.

Just so people know - I'm talking the fight short - not the "board shorts" or grappling shorts.
