So seriously, why in the **** do I want to see Alvin Robinson/Jorge Gurgel or Starnes/Belcher over Okami/J-Mac?

Answer: I don't.

ilostmydog
10-20-2007, 10:11 PM
Both these guys have lost to Okami, but Belcher looked much better doing so. He didn't give up, and his corner didn't forget his stool. Watch Starnes give up again this fight.

BulldogWrestler

Okami and JMac went the distance, like assumed.

I think UFC is trying to cram as many fights as they can in a card on a night.

Agreed, it may not be the most entertaining fight in the world but it definately warrants being on the televised bouts. Both of these guys are tough and have some technical skills.

Agreed the undercard sucks.

I wouldn't say that. I like Schafer/Bonnar and this fight, it's just lame that Okami/J-Mac isn't on it. Jorge Gurgel can get out of here.

Starnes has ahuge Fedor gash in his forehead by Belcher. Its not Eastman bad but might be if he takes any more knees on that canyon. The doctor says he can see his skull through the cut and stops the fight. Kalibs corner seems bitching about the stoppage and he yells back at them f**k you I wanted to fight but they see my skull. Wow.

The doctor actually grimaced when he checked Starnes cut and stopped the fight. Do you know how bad something has to be for a medical doctor to get that "oh sh*t" look on their face? Even Rogan commented on that one.

Bonner had Red turtled up and hiding from the gnp. That boy wanted out. Dana called Bonner over after the fight. I wonder if he bitched him out for thanking Randy? :)

Wanderlei always seems so happy to get camera time. He really is a Jekyl and Hyde when fighting and in public.

The crowd is booing as loud as I have ever heard as all these two are doign is clinching each other in round 1. The finally separate with a minute and half left to strike but then its back to the crowd hating clinch. Both guys seem afraid to do anything except hold each other. Huges boos as the crowd hates this match (Vera/Timmah).

Pat congratulates Timmah on a good round. Sheesh.

We damn sure won't see Timmah wanting to clinch with Brock. He will probably backpedal ala Liddell hoping to catch Lesner with a strike when he shoots on him. Brock can clinch him to death or take him down but I'm not sure he will know what to do with Timmah from there. Tim could actually win a decision by being on his back trying half assed ugly triangle attempts while Brock just tries to drop hammer fists. STill, I'd like to see it.

man, if Silva/Franklin goes all 5 rounds, this ppv is going to end at the last minutes since they always try to go off air a few minutes shy of the 3 hour mark. 25 minutes plus breaks, plus entrances and ending promo is cutting it close if it goes to decision.

Yeah he did, it just took longer this time. However, round 1 ended with Rich dropped to his knees from a punch with one leg twisted up and had there been 10 more seconds, he would have been finished. Round 2 just meant more punishment from Anderson and Rich once again got dropped like he was shot. Rich did land a few decent shots but no damage.

In round 1 it was funny when Anderson was completely avoiding a flurry of Richs punches by bobbing and weaving almost like the matrix. :)

Forget beating Silva or even going the distance, I can't think of anyone in the UFC who can last 3 rounds with him.

It started out pretty good for Rich but Anderson's striking is easily K-1 Level.

The only reason he isn't in K-1 is because K-1 is Open weight above 155 lbs, so he would be facing 6-5 guys like Aerts, Bonjasky, Badr Hari, Glaube Feitosa, 265 lbs guys like LeBanner and 6-11 Schilt and 7-2 Hong Man Choi.

At 185 he has to be the best striker in the World K-1 or not.

I left before the Franklin fight, glad I guess....

I'd just like to say that I guess in retrospect, Vera deserves to lose because broken hand or not he should've used leg kicks. They've always worked well for him, they worked well the tiny bit he did use them. Regardless of who started the clinch, neither did any effective damage and Vera obviously tried to keep it in the clinch most of the time. Not a good hw match, hopefully it's a bad matchup style, but Vera loses some credability in gameplanning in my book after tonight. Tim showed some want to finish, I liked that.

Nah, he showed that he had desire to ake the round so he could take the 29-28 victory.

You just used event as a verb... nice.

I agree though, the card was a waist of time and money. I knew I shoulda stayed home and waited for Tokyudo.

Just can't see myself ordering a card with the main event being headlined by Michael Bisping.

better?

you spelled waste wrong though since we're making corrections :)

I enjoyed the tribute to the Rashad dance that Anderson did at the end of the first round.

Hmmm, it appears I cannot help but have a space in that. Perhaps the admin has also banned excessively long words?

Except Anderson was actually fast and had rhtyhm.

Rashad was slow and moving like a Robot.

Manhoef would still Pwn both in a dance off though.

and what was more impressive about Anderson's dance was that it was while he was ducking rich's punches. :)

That was hilarious! Rich was throwing punches and kicks and couldn't connect while Anderson danced.

The Vera vs. Sylvia fight was a "count the knees championship" fight. Dear god what a waste of time that was...

That Vera Sylvia fight was possibly the worst fight I've ever seen. The Franklin Silva fight was good, but too short.

My buddy regrets buying the fight also. Gotta love friends with money!

Vera/Sylvia was much better than every fight Koscheck has ever won. And also better than a whole lot of other fights. It wasn't entertaining, but it wasn't THAT bad...

Yeah, boring fight - but not one that I was yelling at the screen at because I was so pissed (i.e Sylvia/Monson, Sylvia Arlovski III)

It was just a meh fight. Not bad, but not good.

If it wasn't Sylvia fighting, most people wouldn't have that opinion.

This is the worst fight I can remember seeing recently, and definitely in the top 3 worst fights I've ever seen.

Damn you Bonnar!

Uh oh...

Somebody dig up the thread where I was arguing that Bonnar was a good fighter and the whole forum vehemently disagreed with me.

You are all fools and pawns in Stephan's game !
