Not sure if Spike's Guy's Choice Awards have aired yet, but The Spider won the award for Most Dangerous Man in the World.

oh, and in unfortunate news, in his acceptance he mentioned his mother passed away 2 weeks ago.

That's sad to hear the news on his mother and I hope him the best. It's crazy that he is fighting so soon after the death, but that may be his way of dealing with it. I hope it doesn't affect his mental health too much.

The award itself is deserved too, I can't think of too many other people who are as dangerous as Silva. I'd actually probably rather face Fedor than Silva if I had a choice to make. I really wouldn't want my face rearranged by knees.

Also after his speech even before the translation the crowd had a very good reaction to him even though it wasn't in English...

I'm telling you guys even if Silva isn't selling PPV's like the bigger names he might be the most popular fighter to the casual fan other than Chuck.

I watched it too but I think this was pre recorded a while ago because Matt Damon kept talking about Boston coming to town and everyone booing in La. I think this was recorded befor the NBA Finals. But did anyone notice anderson looked pretty fvcking big?

I'd say most guys at 185 cut from around 215.

You have to understand when he is at 215 that is at non dieting, walking around weight. I doubt he is cutting 30 lbs the day before the fight and then getting back up to 215 on fight night.

oh, I know. I was just commenting on AZlion's comments about Anderson looking big. That is why he looked bigger than we are used to seeing him. That was recorded a couple weeks ago, still over a month out from his fight.

Bruce is absolutely right...after 4 weeks of eating a raw veggie, lean protein packed specialized diet you really shed off a lot of weight.

Plus you replenish your body so much in training that a large guy like Anderson could easily sweat off 10-15 lbs the day of weigh ins and replenish like nothing.

i don't think he'd like to be known as the world most dangerous man. anderson is a classy and humble man. how about the worlds most gifted fighter/athlete and the worlds most accurate striker.

the worlds most dangerous man is president bush or bin laden. take your pick.

i remember why ken shamrock was named the worlds most dangerous man. he was on a tv show (a long time ago during his prime as the best ufc fighter) about the worlds most dangerous job and the name stuck with the ufc fighter.
