Alright everybody. It's the Shogun Gassing Guessing Game.
Same as Forrest fight, about 6 minutes.

I actually have a feeling that Chuck is gonna gas.
I say about the 3rd or 4th row cageside....but in all fairness it is a pretty decent walk from the backstage area. :)
In truth I don't think he will gas in this fight. If he does, he should contact Mirko and ask about how to stay on good terms with the UFC while fighting elsewhere.

Shogun will gas out throwing leg kicks that Chxck will once again NOT check at all. The fight will consist of Rua throwing leg kicks while Chxck swings wildly for the one punch ko. If Rua gases right on schedule, Chxck gets his ko and Dana celebrates wildly that the Iceman is Back!

At which point Chuck is knocked silly in August by the loser of Cantwell-Cane.

Chuck will probably get his last title shot (winner of Lyoto/Rashad) if he beats Shogun.

I don't think they would have the audacity to give him another title shot simply for defeating Shogun...Especially with Rampage waiting in the wings...

They don't have to postpone Rampage's shot. They'll give it and then the winner of that title match faces Shogun. If it's Rampage, it becomes Rampage vs Shogun II and that's money for Dana.

Wait, what?....I don't follow...
I'm just saying that Chuck isn't getting a title shot simply for defeating Shogun (if he does it).

Oh right. I wasn't thinking right. Either way, a win for any of those two could mean auto-title shot. They just have to wait after Rampage. As Dana said before, Chuck needs to be impressive, a 'W' means his stock rises, and Dana would have to use it asap.

I think it's funny no one gives him past ten minutes, but this fight probably won't last that long anyway.

Yea he got confused.
I think Chuck will somehow get the next title shot if he wins (especially if it is Machida) because that then sets up Rampage-Rashad for the title shot after that.
If Shogun wins Rampage gets the next title shot and Chuck is kind of screwed. Then they would probably just have Chuck - Anderson Silva or Chuck - Rich Franklin, or such type gimmick matches.

I can't see him getting the next shot even with a big KO. Hell, Dana was previously stating that it would take a lot for him to want to see Chuck fight again, but he backed away from those statements when people blew them out of proportion.
The guy is 1-3 in his last 4 fights. His last TKO was Tito almost two years ago, and his last KO was Couture 2.5 years ago...
I like Chuck and will be rooting for him, but it would be a bit difficult to fast track him to the title without it looking ridiculous.
Assuming there is no injury to Rampage (and he stays away from the Red Bull), there's no way Chuck moves ahead of him.

yeah, I can't see Chuck jumping Rampage for the title shot assuming he wins. Rua, no chance assuming he wins.
Chuck is a good draw but not over Rampage at this stage. Especially if Evans wins, with the jawing those two did after Rampage's last fight.

Rampage has the next title shot no matter what happens.

Well, almost...Ya never know :)

I think if Chuck wins they will set up a Big money match between Him and Forrest. Forrest will outwork him and he will retire.

Was Forrest on Chuck or Randy's team?

He was on Chucks team. Randy's team got slaughtered only winning a couple fights but Bonnar was Randy's team.

So they have the storyline of teacher vs winning student.

They do have that and they laso have that he went and trained with Randy after that. Not to mention that each guy is a huge draw and exciting fighter.

If Lyoto and Chuck win they should have them fight. If Chuck beat Lyoto and gets the Championship he will draw huge in his first title defense. If Lyoto wins then he has now beaten Chuck Liddell in a defense to get even more people behind him...
Have Rampage and Rashad fight on the undercard. Winners fight. Also keep in mind Forrest is somehwere in their too.

I think the REAL Shogun will show up and Chxck will gas. In fact, I think Shogun will mix it up enough with kicks/knees/punches and some improved footwork to keep away from Chuck's punches. I cant wait to proclaim Shogun's back!

Shogun will run out of gas on the way to the Bell Center. Liddell by forfeit.

Chuck gets KO'd in 2-3 minutes. Shogun can last at least that long.

I always wonder exactly at what point in the fight a fighter that is known for gassing starts doing so. Tank Abbot seemed to gas about 45secs into any given fight. I think in a case like Shogun or Mark Coleman it has more to do with them being out of shape, cardiovascularly, BEFORE entering the ring. Therefore, it's not really that they gassed, but that they never had a tank to begin with. (But then that might be the definition of gassing, in which case i now look like a jackass).
Carry on.

Just based on Shogun's past two performances, I think he'll gas sometime in the second round. That said, I hope both the iceman and shogun come prepared, and can bring it for 3 rounds.

Its not "exactly" the same thing. A guy with good cardio can just have an unusually hard and fast fight and wear out faster than normal. Also, as you have probably heard 300+ times now, there is always the dreaded adrenaline dump.
But yeah, its generally a lack of training.
