As for suggestions, I think all avatars need to be automatically resized.
Also, I think some new forums should be made like a K-1/Boxing forum and a Multimedia forum.
I can't believe how busy the forum was during the PBP!! On the front page it says that at one point there were over 300 users on the site, but the truth is that at one point there were 750+ users on all at once!!!
BTW, make sure you get Keita back!

Everyone will have to re-register. I can't seem to transfer all the posts to this new one. We'll just start anew.

When I last checked there were over 300, wow, I didn't even know there were over 750+ users. That's the reason why the board crashed. The Ikonboard I set up was not fit to handle that many users.
I was worried that something like this will happen, but I couldn't properly switch the Ikonboard. To avoid any future problems, I figure we'll just start over again with phpbb instead of Ikonboard.

alright, sounds good to me!
But do you think we could add a couple forums now? Maybe one on K-1 and Boxing, one on Multimedia for videos and pictures,(this could include MMA multimedia) and of course one one nutrition and training.

I like the old board better. My avatar won't even show up on this board even though I selected it from the list.

We won't. I can't get the MySQL version of Ikonboard to work. The MySQL version would prevent the board from crashing when there are too many users.
In a few days, I'll put up a link to the old board if people want to view old posts though.

How is the loading time of the board? Is it faster or the same as the old one?

the loading times are pretty good. I'd say they're slightly better than the old ikonboard.
mmafighting-thanks for always being quick and on top of things, but one question....
Why don't you join in on discussions?You know that this board is respectable enough to where nobody would get on your for stating your oppinion.I'd like to know what your thoughts are on this last pride event and what was your biggest surprise, and your biggest upset.

I was wondering if there is a way of using the "old avatar system", where it would automatically size the pic, i beleive they could be larger than 9kb aswell.

We really need to get a reliable board...this going offline in key moments stuff is not going to cut it. It gets just a little irritating.

This board seems pretty reliable. I just hope it doesn't go down during the next PPV when hundreds of users are on at the same time. mmafighting is easily one of the busiest MMA boards on the net during PPV time.
Props to the webbie for getting the new board up so quickly after crash no 2. Alot of hard work surely was done behind the scenes to kick this off.
A couple of thoughts..... It seems we have alot of folks who come here for the live fight play by play that perhaps don't make themselves known regularly--thus the crash from heavy traffic. A big hello to them if they are reading, come join us and post regularly. Secondly, I really appreciate no pop up adds. These sites cost money and it would probably be better for the webbie if he used popups and things to help cost, so here is a thank you for not doing it.
With the new board, I thought it was time for a name change. Cbear will go into hibernation and Mike will take his place. No more being mistaken for a chick named "Care Bear" or having to explain where "Crappingbear" came from to confused net warriors. :lol:
And now, lets get on to the posting!

I'm glad you said something...I never would have caught on. Irecognized the Avatar but thought Mike was someone using thatAvatar as well. :)
None may use the Grizzly avatar but me! Bleh! Bleh! :lol: I made that avatar from a photo off of an Alaska game hunting site as it fit my persona of the zen bear soaking in a lake.

I guess the last board crash was caused because PBP was introduced at Sherdog and a lot of people visited here.
Especially the first 30 mins was very busy (I found it hard to post the PBP :( ) but soon this board became stable until the end of PBP.
I dont know exactly when this board crashed but it may be around after PPV in the US ended.
Anyway thanks a million to the administrator of mmafighting.com. It is very surprising that you started the new board system so soon.
