Dana White Confirms Chuck-Tito for UFC 47
Today Dana White confirmed that Chuck Liddell's next fight would be against Tito Ortiz at UFC 47 - probably in March. This is the superfight that fans have demanded for a long, long time.
Tito is going to beat Chuck down.
I hope Chuck gets his stuff together and doesn't come in half ass against Tito. If he gasses and lets Tito whip his butt, I'll never forgive him.

agreed Mike but I think Chuck will be ready. This is a fight he's wanted for a very long time.
I'll take Chuck by KO

Sweeeeeeeet! Nothing would please me more than to see Tito with back-to-back losses.
But holy **** people, imagine the pressure on these two. Chuck finally getting what he was denied for a waaaaay long time - and now that he's on a down hill slide (or so some say) he must deliver.
And Tito desprately not wanting to cry in public again, desprately not wanting back to back losses.
For me this is a tough fight to call.
****, i'll beleave it when i see tito in his flame shorts and chuck in his kickboxer shorts and then i'll be amped.

i'll believe it when the bell rings.
Tito should have some good insight on training after the Rampage win.
Hopefully Chuck will execute the "gameplan".......

Normally, I would be fully confident of a Tito win, but Ortiz seems to have really been ducking Liddell, and you have to wonder why. Maybe Tito knows something we don't.
Still, I'd say Tito by decision.

Mike C. Bear's right, gassing out would be unacceptable behaviour. Both of these guys have alot on the line. Ortiz just might have some mental hurdles to overcome, and Liddell's got to learn to stick to the dang-gum gameplan. The gameplan is your friend.
Can we say that the UFC is trying to put together the big shows (now)? Maybe they aren't slacking quite like it sometimes seems...eh.

I hope this fight really happens - 47 is still a long way off!
These are two guys who are hungry for vindication at this point - should make for a good fight. I'm rooting for Chuck to get his act together and kick Tito's butt!

i wouldn't start dancing about this fight quite yet, with tito involved, anything can happen. another injury perhaps? if the fight does happen, it's long overdue.
i think tito will gnp chuck for a win. chuck's offensive gameplan has been solved (by keeping your hands up high, like randy and rampage did) . i'm sure tito and rampage trained together and tito will no better than to drop his hands. all tito needs do is throw straight jabs

Tito's probably peeing in his pants right now thinking about this fight. We all know that Tito's been afraid of Liddell for the longest time? Why exactly has Tito been afraid? Liddell is not that great of a fighter so it's surprising, but there is no doubt that Tito had indeed been afraid of Chuck.
I think if Tito trains hard and isn't too scared at the start of the fight, he'll win.

Tito knows at this point, anything short of an actual, confirmed, broken neck, will be seen as bull****, running scared, ducking the fight, etc, etc. And that would be, at this point, simply too damaging to the "Tito Image" which has taken a beating, literally and figuratively, lately.
Tito knows that he lost a lot of credibility in the fight with Randy, he lost a lot of his fan base (damn fickle mma fans). I'm sure Dana has threatend Tito with death should he pull any of his typical crap. And after the beating by Randy I think that Tito lost a lot of leverage that he once had with the UFC...just my speculation.

Yeah Tito has signed so he will be there...
I hope when he beats Chuck down you haters...I mean guys give him his due, and not pull out some chuck's shot or what not..
Chuck is in for another beating!

Chuck looked bad against Rampage and Randy and he didn't look that good against Overeem, so I don't think Tito is gonna be in a lot of trouble.
Tito lost to Randy because Randy beat him at his own game. I don't see Chuck taking Ttio down. He'll probably stand there and wait for Tito to crowd him and then it's over.......

The real questions is how Chuck is going to look at his recent losses and what he's going to gain from them -- is he going to really look at why he lost and improve his gameplan? Or is he going to do like he and Hackleman have done all this year and insist that Chuck is going to keep on training the same way he has and it's just a matter of focus.

you guys are chumps, Tito will smack the iceman and that will be that, Tito was never ducking him, he was trying to make more money, other stupid fighters who fight for peanuts can thank Tito for increasing their wallet size by demandig a better contract and payday. Chuck is one dimentional fighter, he has no ground skills, but great hands, maybe 20% better standup than Tito but 100% worse on the ground. Who would you pick? Also who got smacked 10000x worse by randy??
Get over the liddel worship and move on, truth to be told there are better fighters than both of them out there.

Nothing is definitely for sure until Tito actually steps into the octagon. Both are on huge downward slides, Chuck moreso than Tito, so a win would be HUGE for both of them.

Well, both have admitted on record that Liddell USED to own Ortiz. I even heard Ortiz say that himself. But, that was a while back. Sometimes those things change, sometimes they don't  It might have been Chuck's takedown defense and hands that made the difference, but Tito's dealt with Randy now. He might appreciate the transition more than ever.

??? Tito actually said that?
Anyway, Tito has Rampage for a training partner and I'm sure it will be a pretty even match.

I think Chuck should list the help of one Mirko Cro Cop.

let's hope that this fight does take place and that Chuck wins. Hopefully then Tito can retire his ass.

Robby I think training with Mirko wouold be a good idea. This fight is almost better than it would have been a year ago or so. With ortiz having just lost and Liddell losing 2 of his last 3 and looking a little suspicious in the one victory neither of these guys can afford to lose this fight. What would it do to either guy? There is more pressure on both these guys than there would have been if they were both on hot streaks like before. The common reaction would have been "well someon had to lose" now whoever loses the fight will be several rungs down the ladder!!
As much as I hate to admit it I like Tito in this fight. Liddell has looked completely one dimensional and has been unwilling to change his game plan. He looked really feeble against Couture and was taken care of fairly easily against Rampage. He better train really hard and come out with a few new moves against Tito or he won't have a shot.

From a thinkers standpoint it would definitely be a smart choice at this point to choose Tito Ortiz. Chuck Liddell has been on a pretty terrible run as of late, and must I dare say, he has proven to be quite an overrated fighter. That's not to say Tito Ortiz isn't an overrated fighter because he is.
I think Chuck's striking skills were somewhat exposed in his last fight with Rampage. His skills in standup are good but far from great. His defence for in-close takedowns really needs to improve if he wants a shot at taking out Tito or else Tito will likely ground and pound his way to the ref stoppage victory.
I really hope Chuck Liddell wins this fight, but at this point, I'm leanign towards Tito.

The main thing Chuck needs to do is improve his standup. His striking isn't really that good and pretty damn sloppy as evident of his last Rampage fight. Chuck can't contend in the clinch or on the ground with Tito, so he's going to have to catch Ortiz with a big right hand or high kick while standing in order to win the fight.

Chuck has not shown he is overrated, unless you rated Chuck in the top 3 at the division..
Chuck in my mind has been a top 10 guy but towards the end of the list, 7 or 8 maybe...Chuck has lost to 2 top 5 guys, when he loses to Tito it won't mean that he stinks or isn't good, he just isn't a top 5 guy..
I still think he would beat Vitor, AGAIN, just Arona, Silva, Couture, Tito, and Rampage are better.
