What was the Axe Murderer thinking when he and his wife named their baby Thor? Thor the God of Thunder? Holy cow, that boy is going to be forced to fight for his life in school with a name like that whether he wants to or not. He will either be forced to become a fighter or be a whipping boy for every school bully. This reminds me of the old Johnny Cash song "A boy named Sue" and its effect on the son. I envision a conversation between father and son in 20 years where young Thor asks poppa why he didn't just name him Paulo.

From the photos of Silva at home, he needs to cut loose with some cash to the wife to decorate the house. Its a little empty. Perhaps he likes his living room like a dojo so he can cut loose and start sparring if the mood hits him--knick knacks and furniture might get in the way.

That is funny stuff. Apparently Silva sees Thor beating him for the belt someday :D

I wonder how some of these fighters live sometimes. A few time I was chatting with Gracie's sister, Rose, late at night and she was telling me how the boys were on the mat in their living room grappling at the time (I mean 1 or 2 in the morning). Of course, at first I was skeptical, but got more info and know it to be true. So apparently at this home (in Texas) all they had in the living room was a mat, a sofa, and a tv. Something like that. And they'd sleep in every morning, do their Gracie diet all day, and grapple with each other every night into the morning. What a funny picture to me. But I've got one too, so it doesn't seem all that odd to me. In fact, everyone should have one! You she see people's faces when they come over. Some flush red or white. Some stutter. Some smile real big and just nod. The cable guy chose to completely ignore this 12' square mat in the living room (I guess he was very professional :D ). The wife's side of the family think I'm completely gone. People are crazy...but it's not me. Why can't everyone see that :D

I don't think any bullies are going to want to mess with that!

although i agree with the sillyness of the name thor....

i agree with vanderlei, being who he is, where he is now, i'd stronly feel(if i were wanderlei) that my son "thor" will be a bad ass, and people would not be like.....'here comes thor  ', but instead, be like....
'here comes thor   '

Thor is not a common name in Brazil. In the other hand, few people know its meaning, and associate it with the comics hero.
