UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) looks to be very close to landing a TV deal. The top candidates to pick up the series right now are Fox Sports Network and Spike TV. Talks between UFC and Spike TV have gotten so close that Spike TV has apparently asked Vince McMahon if he has a problem with it since UFC could be considered competition for WWE. McMahon apparently told the network that he had no problem with it and that he didn't consider UFC to be competition.

The UFC isn't ready for big TV. The middle-of-the-road sports fans will say nothankyou. Pride is ready.

I guess it now seems that both Pride and the UFC are ready for TV deals. At the current state that they're in the UFC should not secure a TV deal right now. Once the company regroups and gets their junk together, then they can get themselves a TV deal.

From insidefighting.com
"Today on MMA Radio with Ryan Bennett, UFC President Dana White announced that they are very close to announcing a major tv deal where the UFC will air weekly fights similar to ESPN2's Tuesday Night Fights. Our sources indicate that the network in question is, in fact, Spike TV. This is the break that MMA has been looking for! Close the deal, Dana, so we can all celebrate!"
That's awesome news for the UFC and MMA. Will anyone say, "way to go Dana"? No, of course not. People will just say, "it's about time Dana". Everyone's a cynic.
