HENDERSON!
:D
Amazing fighter - love his aggressive style, big ole' right hand, awesome Greco throws, good strategy and mental game. And the fact that he's a classy sportsman and cool person on top it makes him my favorite.

That's a hard call, I can't name just one fighter... But my favourites would be: Sakuraba, Nogueira, Igor (on his prime he was great to watch) and Bas.
I've never seen Bas Rutten fights but his clipping on Sherdog is simply awesome, so he also figures on my list.

Sakuraba! the most entertaining, the gutsiest and for what he did to the legend of the Gracies! and heart, after all that pain and surgery he is still one of the best!
others would be:
Couture
Wanderlai
Shamrocked

My current favorites are Dan Henderson and Jeremy Horn, but all-time I'd have to go with the revolutionary Kazushi Sakuraba or the influential Ken Shamrock.

after watching the first couple of ufc's which were not very entertaining (mostly due to royce gracie's fights) i came upon ufc 8 david vs. goliath. i was hooked and have been a major fan ever since.

No, I'm not trying to bump old threads for S&G. Just haven't seen this topic for a long time, and with so many new members, just curious. Who is your favorite NOW, and your Favorite ALL TIME.
Now - GSP. Most well-rounded fighter MMA has ever seen, period.

Current: (other than Wand... him still being active and all) Maia, Condit, Charles Oliveira, Thiago Silva, and JDS just to make it one from each UFC weight class. Aldo and Miguel Torres at the lower weights.
Really.. I just love anyone who's a damn near psycho about finishing the fight even if it means they're taking a few losses along the way. I wish guys wouldn't even enter their MMA career until they have a dangerous enough ground game that they can go all out standing knowing that they'll win even if they get taken down.
I know that's a fairly unrealistic request by most standards, but it's what constitutes my favorites.

I have differant aspects that makes it difficult to pick one.
Favorite personality is deff. Rampage he makes me laugh everytime he talks.
My favorite humble fighter has to be franklin he just seems like a nice guy.
Athleticism is GSP
Heart was either realy old school Kimo or Evan Tanner but now it is probably Forrest he realy gets hurt when he loses.
At one time I would have said Andy embodied most of the above traits but I just don't think so anymore. So I guess right now I don't have one favorite fighter. I have fighters I realy like i.e Miguel Torres and Clay Guida but don't know if I could say they are my favorite.

Royce was one if my idols as a teenager. It's so cliche, but really I was completely absolutely amazed at the things he was doing. The fight with Jason Delucia was one of the coolest things I had ever seen at the time. Up until that point Royce was winning by being on top, so seeing an armbar from the bottom was something I had never seen and was blown away. I uses to brag to people who had not had a chance to see the UFC yet how the guy was quiting before he even hit the ground. So I'll give Royce some props...
Going back in time I was a HUGE Vitor fan. In hindsight it's easy to see how overblown those wins were, but at the time it was special. He decimated Telligman. He smoked Ferrozo who was coming off a big win over Tank as well as a dominating win in his first fight that night. Then he dominated Tank. So he was looking unbeatable. Around this time so was Coleman so in my head I always wondered who would have won that fight if it had ever happened. I was super pissed when "that old guy" beat Vitor in a bug upset. Who would have thought that 10-15 years later that "old guy" would be one of the most revered fighters of all time and still be fighting.

I'm a relative latecomer to the sport and still pretty casual. So I don't know a lot of the older guys or the Pride guys who didn't make the jump or very many of the Japanese guys at all. I haven't seen much outside of UFC and Strikeforce except a bit of recent Bellator. I don't have a single favorite, but just like different fighters for different reasons. Though I appreciate skillful groundwork a lot more these days, I hate a crapass Fitch-style humpfest and love an insane brawl that makes me jump up and shout. I like slams and headkicks and spinning backfists. I want fireworks. And I grew up on rasslin' so I appreciate guys as characters, not just as fighters. So:
Chuck Liddell - He became champ soon after I started paying attention regularly. What a badass. As an excited new fan, his fights with Randy were the epic series fights for me and set the tone for my fandom. It took me a while to realize that I didn't actually care for his counterpunch style and wanted more attack out of him, but still - if you could design a champ on paper, you'd design that guy. Mohawk. Trucker 'stache. Scalp tattoo. Badass nickname. Fierce stare. Knockin' suckas out. Badass. Spectacle. When he walked to the ring you knew some poor guy was about to go lights out. He just looked so mean and tough, and when he spoke it was quiet and certain and you knew he was Serious Business. He remains the archetypal badass champion fighter in my head. He should be the UFC logo. It was so fun and invigorating to be an Iceman fan and so sad to see him decline.
Randy Couture - It's his overall attitude and bearing. He's calmly confident, deliberate, and realistic, yet takes calculated risks and is up for big challenges. He seems to set his own course more than anyone else. His fighting style isn't exactly my favorite but I just like to see him win and keep on fighting long after most guys would have retired. I'm annoyed by his recent joke fights but whatever. Still awesome.
Urijah Faber - For a while there he seemed like the total package. Despite his losses, he still does. He fights the kind of fights I want to see. He's someone I'll pay to see. Lightning fast, always on the attack, relentlessly aggressive, never runs out of energy, has lots of ideas and will come at you from all directions, keeps fighting hard even after both hands are rendered useless, never quits, fantastic attitude, hometown hero, and you know some crazy wild elbow or something is going to flip out of him at some point during the fight. Hell yeah. I was sorry to see him drop the belt to that pasty cornfed zero. I hope he kicks ass at 135.
Gegard Mousasi - I love this guy's totally calm self-possession in the ring. Regardless of what's happening he always seems composed and laser focused. I typically like a more amped style, but there's something cool about watching him beat people up while looking like he's just having a workout.
Forrest Griffin- You have to like the guy. What heart. He seems up for any fight. And I like a brawler that just windmills without regard for his face. It's stupid but fun. Also he looks like a cartoon monkey, which is great. It would be nice to see him knock people out, but then I guess we'd get less overall slobberknocker time. Honorable mention to Stephan Bonnar for the same reasons. Humble, always brings it, never quits.
Clay Guida - Speaking of not having regard for one's face, this guy is nuts. You know it's going to be exciting when he fights. Sometimes I can't believe he can still stand up after getting that face pummeled so hard, but his head is made of rock and he pops right back up if you knock him down. He was time-warped forward from neanderthal times, I just know it.
Diego Sanchez - I remember laughing and cringing at this guy's awful, awful, hilariously bad mic skills on TUF. You could tell he had no clue how silly he looked trying to cut a mean promo. Later his weirdness really magnified and I started to not like him, but did like his aggressive style in the ring. Then his weirdness went so totally off the charts that I couldn't help but like him and laugh. There's something tragic about his cluelessness about himself, but mostly it's funny. And though I still laugh at his silly attempts at meanface, I really like watching him fight. His style isn't always the smartest, but it's aggressive aggressive aggressive.
Chris Leben - I hated the crap out of this guy on TUF. What a piece of trash. What a trainwreck. He deserved a baseball bat in the face. But it was really interesting and gratifying to watch him get serious, lose the sh:tty attitude, develop some humility, and turn his life around. I still hate his goblin-ass footstomps - seriously, don't anybody ever do that again - but otherwise I like his style in the ring. Gritty, aggressive, nothing fancy, head like a rock, can take a beating, never quits, can fight through near total delirium. He won't win the belt but I feel like he has already won what needed winning. He's the kind of guy that, in the last scene of a movie about his life, would be raising his hands at the end of a fight he just lost, but in everyone's eyes as well as his own, he'd have won. It's that kind of victory. And lately the literal kind too. We joke about him here but I have real respect and admiration for him now.
Lately - I'm really enjoying watching Jon Jones move up through the ranks and I'm excited to see him getting closer to the top guys. Aldo is an artist. King Mo is a diamond in the rough - what an unexpectedly impressive person. I keep one eye on Matt Hamill just because I remain impressed that he came from a pure wrestling background yet seems to have transformed into a striker. I thought that was ballsy to do that right out of the gate. It's hard for me to get excited about GSP, but I'm still impressed and he seems like such a class act. He's the anti-meathead-jerk. I like just about all the WEC guys I've seen. Those guys bring it. Great shows.

I'm also rather new to the MMA fold, I only really got 'into it' per se in 2009, so I've kind of been working my way backwards through all the history of it all. So my favourite fighters of-right-now also constitute my favourite fighters of all time by default.
Demian Maia; Shinya Aoki - I have a soft spot for uni-dimensional BJJ-based submission artists I actually enjoyed the Maia's recent match against Miranda even though it was basically just him transitioning from one failed sub to another.
(Young) Crocop; Wanderlei Silva - I also have a soft-spot for crazy-intimidating strikers :P
Alistair Overeem - It's fun watching him wrecking people with his horse and shark/steroid induced Hulk-powers.
Genki Sudo - I'd probably rate Sudo as my all-time favourite, everything about him just exudes awesomeness. He's amazingly fun to watch with his unorthodox style and after he retired, his techno-JPop band's music and dance moves range from pure awesomeness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ua64HbsBUo) to absolutely hilarious (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35hCo_grAqw)

Your post could have been lot briefer if you'd just listed your non-favorite fighters. Me thinks, you just like watching TV. Good policy, cause you know people can die from reading books.
