I missed it. Who won and is a top contender now?

Ruiz won in perhaps the most boring fight of all time. And I don't care where the WBA, IBF, WBO, ABC, XYZ governing bodies rank Ruiz. I think he's an awful fighter to watch. And he's probably not even in the top 5 best heavyweights.

He's now the WBA (I think) interim champion. Roy Jones has 120 days to decide to fight him or not in order to retain his WBA title. 120 days to decide! That's 4 months! And then the fight would likley be scheduled for several months after that time. What a joke. How can anyone follow a sport where there is so much inactivity in between fights?

Anyways, the point here is null and void because Jones won't fight Ruiz again. He wants one more "mega pay day" (likely vs. Tyson) and then wants to retire. In other words, Jones & Tyson don't need belts in order to draw big PPV numbers. And in boxing that's what it all seems to be about, "big pay days".

Ruiz is such a crappy fighter and so is Rahman. No wonder this fight was so bad.

Why did they set up this fight if they knew that it would be boring as hell?
