According to USA TODAY, HBO is holding a May 15 PPV date for Roy Jones. The card is expected to feature Jones in a rematch against either ANTONIO TARVER OR BERNARD HOPKINS. The paper said Jones WON'T be fighting at Heavyweight, so at what weight either of those possible fights takes place is open to question.
Wlad Klitschko will fight Lamon Brewster on HBO either April 10 or May 1.
HBO is also holding an April 24 PPV date for the Lewis-Vitali rematch. So the HBO replay of a Lewis-Klitschko rematch a week later might include the live match between Wlad-Brewster (interesting doubleheader).
On May 8, Floyd Mayweather will fight in Madison Square Garden. His promoter is trying to make a match between Floyd and 154-pounder Raul Marquez (who has become the gatekeeper at the weight, apparently).
Looks good.

I guess that makes Roy somewhat of a liar.
He stated after after his fight with Tarver that if his next fight wasn't with Mike Tyson, then he would retire.

I hate to be the boxing basher but here I go once again.....
Let's imagine if mma's schedule were like boxing's;
-Couture is unsure whether he wants to retire - haven't seen or heard from him in 7 months
-Silva wants a couple more big money fights vs. Yoshida and Sak 4 and then is content to hang them up
-Fedor has been in court for the last year and may or may not fight in 2004 due to legal issues
-Mirko who last fought 3 months ago is rumored to fight sometime in late 2004, maybe vs. Nog 2
Couture = Lennox
Silva = Roy Jones
Fedor = Tyson
Mirko = De La Hoya
Boxing and MMA's 4 biggest names = oh the horror, the horror!

Lennox is probably going to fight Vitali in April. All signs point in that direction..
Roy is fighting in May, a rematch w/ Tarver or a rematch w/ pound for pound great Bernard Hopkins..
Tyson says he wants to fight 3 times but who knows..
Oscar, Oscar is the king of superfights and is lining up a big fight w/ Tito Trinidad this summer, maybe fall..
Oscar wouldn't fight the level of Dos Caras Jr, I can tell you that..
MMA top guys don't fight each other that often. Nog made fights happen, but are we ever going to see Mirko/Fedor?
Also Tito Ortiz is the UFC's biggest name.
Makes sense for Roy to fight Tarver, again. No one else. Hopkins will just have to be in the dark as there are no fights out there for him.
Too bad Toney/McCline is off. I wanted to see what the fat boy could pull off vs. the big man.
I ain't even holdin my breath for Lewis/Klitscko. Lewis seems to have lost heart and will overnight.
At least there's still Mosley/Wright which may be a bad style for Mosley.
Oh yeah, I almost closed this without mentioning Floyd. His jump north sould be interesting, whomever he fights.

Wright sucks, he will not even be competitive w/ Sugar Shane..
Lewis has heart bro, that's what carring him through the first 2 rounds of the fight when Vitali was dropping bombs on him..
Manny Stewert said Lennox is running and getting in shape, he told his team to be ready for an April or May fight and HBO has reserved April 24th for the fight. Lewis is going to close the book on Vitali..
HBO wants Roy to fight Hopkins not Tarver, who knows but one of them will fight him in May..
Pretty Boy Floyd is fighting Raul Marquez at 154. Still some good ****, let's not forget the return of Tito Trinidad and the rematch w/ Oscar.

I still think it's a bad style matchup for Mosley Dog. He may be dull but he's effective.
I was'nt questioning Lewis' heart in the ring at all. He showed he could gut it out when he has to. I mean AFTER it was all said and done it seemed like he lost the heart to go at it with Vitaly once more to redeem himself. Like he was in doubt or something. That "one punch" crap he pulled against Vitaly pissed me off because he could have knoced the joker out by round six with combo punching and not this trying to land one shot at a time &#%$^! I'm gladd to hear he's running at least and setting a date even if it's tentative for now.
I too would like to see Roy in there with Hopkins considering his past tyrade of wanting to "break his jaw". Roy is another I know can fight better than what he did with Tarver the first time. He'll embarrass Tarver the second time around. If not Tarver will get my props.
I'd like to see Floyd get the job done and make some fights at 54. It'll spice things up there.
Oscar goes to sleep against Tito this time.

When Roy fights Tarver again he will dominate. He won't be severely dehydrated and sick from rapid weight loss and will be comfortable once again at light heavyweight. Expect Roy to go field day on Tarver's ass.

Tarver's a decent enough fighter, but what pisses me off about him, the same with Rahman, is they think they are better then what they are. The only thing he's got going for him is his south paw style. A good jab and hard left hand. No right hook or nothing else. He contradicts himself often sighting "who has fought who" when his career opponents have'nt exactly been "stellar"....you know what I'm saying? Like I said, he fought a "less than 100%" Jones and did'nt do jack with that opportunity feeling a degree of "vindication" because of a red spot on Roy's face. Wow-wee. Whoop-de-dam-doo. Nice job Antonio. It's what Roy DID NOT do that made him "appear" to do something....same as when Tarver fought Reggie Johnson. Jones fights better this time proving that the first time was a fluke.

Who has Wright been effective against, he has gassed in his fights, he gassed against Vargas and gave away all the late rounds, and that loss to Vargas years ago is his complete claim to fame..
He gassed against JC Candello, he has never fought anyone near as good as Sugar Shane. Those wicked body shots are going to crush Winky..
And lets not forget, Winky is just a lighter version of Byrd, 2 guys that cry nobody will fight them and yet they turn down fights left and right..
Believe me man, Winky sucks, he is going to get whooped up on..
Lennox was tired and out os shape, he couldn't throw any combos..
I thought Roy won the first fight, Tarver is all mouth, the fight was there for him but he didn't go get it..
I agree Roy smashes Tarver the second time, and it will probably be the first and last time I root for Jones.

aahh, some serious boxing talk here eh boys?
it looks like jones just wants to stay active. at a comfortable weight, jones will kill tarv. i seriously doubt jones will fight at 175 again. then where? what weight woulod jones fight hopkins at? bernard has been starving himself at 160 his entire career. i doubt he could make 175. a jones/ hopkins fight WILL NOT happen, i'd bet my house on it.
mosley will ko winky early. mosley will feel him up for a few rounds, then unload his speed and punish his body. wright just doesnt have any power. recently mosley's competition has been far ahead of wrights. besides whooping that hillbilly mccart's ass , he hasnt done much. fernando would beat winky easy if he was prepeared.
as for tito, the man is walking around currently at 190. if he gets in shape(ya right) and meets oscar at 160, oscar will school him better than when he did it the first time, and this time he 'll have a better game plan than to run around the last 6. no way in hell will tito beat oscar, unless oscar move to the 175 div. you cant take a 2 year break, get out of shape, and then miraculiosly return to the top of one of the toughest divs . no chance in hell.

speak of the devil, according to fight news.com, tito/oscar negociations are on. don king made oscar an offer, which was quickly rejected. they are to fight at 160. interesting to see where this goes.
