Nocaute (http://www.revistanocaute.com/), in Portuguese, sounds like knockout. This magazine belongs to the Gracie family.

That's a kickass picture if I've ever seen one in my life!!

If these two fight once again, it will be an extraordinary battle!

cool picture.

Why does it say playboy under Silva's name? Is he planning on posing nude?

DT

LOL!!!

No, Silva is saying "I´m going to disfigure that playboy face", about Vitor.

I think Silva envies Vitor´s pretty face. :P

What's the content of the article inside? Does Vitor talk about rematching Randy first or fighting Wanderlei first?

It will be on the link for the magazine I put at the first post. But it is in Portuguese, and the cover is for the next month, the article is not available yet.

I really can't blame Vitor here. Think about it. Two Brazilian champions. A unification match which is also a rematch. It sounds like a dream come true for the MMA fans of Brazil.

I know Randy isn't getting any younger so it's a very unfortunate hand he's been dealt. Sucks, but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes I guess.

That is true, but even then I don´t think it would be aired live in ppv on Brazil.

Donna,

When does Brazil get to see the UFC and PRIDE shows? Are any shown live or same day tape delay? Do they come out months later? Do you get all of the ones that we get here in America?

PPV in Brazil is ... humm... ridiculous. They don´t respect the espectators.

Look for these dates on Premiere Combat channel:

22/02 16h00 - PRIDE 27
19/03 22h00 - PRIDE BUSHIDO 2

UFC 46 was aired Feb 13th.

Sometimes they just don´t show what is scheduled.

Although I don´t have cable tv, I read many people complaining in Brazilian forums.

I think Silva is very sour about his loss to Vitor, Kinda how Vitor was sour to his loss against Randy Couture. Keep In mind that if Vitor wouldve beat Couture the first time, Maybe hos entire MMA career would be different.
If and when this fight happens, It will be one for the books!!!.

And then Tatame (http://www.tatame.com.br/index1.htm), the rival of Nocaute, went to the source, talking to Pride and Rudimar.

In resume. Pride assumes that the unification of titles is an idea that requires a lot of hard negotiations. Rudimar, Chute Boxe leader, confirms that it is a hoax, and that Vitor has been compelled by UFC for a rematch with Randy, and after a fight against the winner of Tito x Liddel, and only then the UFC champion would fight the Pride champion. Silva has an one year contract signed with Pride and will fight whoever they want to.

Donna,

Who is more popular and more liked in Brazil between Vitor and Silva?

DT
02-23-2004, 03:01 PM
Vitor has much more exposure on tv, due to his marriage to Joana Prado and his participation on the reality show.

Silva is almost unkown to the public outside martial arts.

With the martial arts public, the opinions are divided, something like "The playboy Vitor" and "the common man Silva"... unfair stereotypes, in my opinion.

Ok that brings we to my next question, what about Nog? Is he more popular than Vitor? And what about the Gracies?

Geez Im just full of questions, sorry I just find it very interesting that's all.

No, Vitor is much more famous than Nog. Remember that Nog is a class act, and doesn´t like too much exposure.

The Gracies are known as a family name. Unfortunately they are known for the bad fame of jiu-jitsu. Thugs fighting at night. People respect their knowledge on the art, but that is all.

Once when i was in brazil i saw a MMA competition on tv there and all i remember was the crowed throwing chairs at the fighters while they were fighting and like at the end gun shots, we can conclude from this that it was a good spectacle. :P does any1 know what event im talkin about and who was fighting when it took place?

Silva has evolved so much since their first meeting, and if they were to fight now it would be a war. But were should this fight take place in UFC(belforts advantage) or the Pride ring (Silvas advantage) I would prefer to see it go down in the octagon.

I don't think the location of cage vs ring would affect the fight at all. Both are strikers and both will strike no matter what. The cage or ring wont' be factor.
