Sanders-Klitschko; Forrest-Reid
The Staples Center in LA landed the Vitali Klitschko-Corrie Sanders WBC heavyweight title match on 4/24. Vernon Forrest will make his 154 debut against Teddy Reid on the undercard.

I'm sure this will be billed as the fight which determines the "true" heavyweight champion. I guess this is the best that the HW division can do for now. I guess we'll have to be satisfied with watching Klitschko KO "B" class fighters for the next couple years until a legitimate threat arises.

This will be the first heavyweight boxing fight that I watch in a long time. I'll be expecting a big KO by Vitali.

I'll be rooting for Sanders too, but I don't think he's going to win. Sanders got lucky with his KO of Wladimir, but he's not going to get lucky again when he fights big brother Vitali.

with pride happening the next day, i'll call this weekend a definate "****kicking weekend". although forrest back out of his fight(no real loss), sanders/vitali should be a good one.

with the heavyweight division being as horrible as it's ever been and absolutely no young, promising prospects on the rise, i'm hoping for upsets in all the big fights and total chaos in this ****ty division. even golota was an inch away from a piece of the title (he got robbed by the way). hopefully cory sanders can upset the one who was heralded to be the next champ. any thoughts?

Golata got robbed, why are people potecting Byrd, first Fres, he gets a questionable draw and now Andrew...2 draws in a row..

Byrd isn't going to draw money!

good fight eh? sanders get my respect for a guttsy effort, to bad he didnt have the legs to go with that big left hand. i thought he was gonna take off vitali's head. frankenstein showed he has a decent chin, and good combos. good thing they stopped it when they did, sanders was out on his feet. props to the ref for a perfectly timed stoppage . so what's next ? a frankenstein/byrd rematch? i would'nt pay penny for that one.

I knew Sanders would get KO'ed. He put forth a good effort, but alas, it wasn't good enough.

I just watched this fight.

Very entertaining, in kinda a sloppy way. V Klitschko is the real deal. However, he keeps his head stationary which makes me believe any big puncher stands a good chance of KOing him. But that's what makes his fights so entertaining. Compared to Byrd and Ruiz I'd 1 million more times rather watch a Klitschko fight.

Those combinations in the 8th round were just beautiful. Vitali certainly knows how to tee-off.

On a side note, American fight fans make me sick. They boo after about 10 seconds of inactivity and go crazy when they see punishment. After the fight some of them always seem dissapointed. As if, they were hoping to see a murder. This blood thirsty, spectacle, morbid mentality is part of what's wrong with society in general. I wish they could just appreciate the athleticism.

half the fans dont have a damn clue about what skill is. they boo because they're bloddthristy and love nothing but the violent aspect of it. i always noticed that at fights i've been to. the real enthusiasts are silent, while the ignorant fans cant shut up.

Unfortunately, these drunken morons are a big part of the fan base and mma and boxing would be less viable as businesses without them.
