Roy Jones Took Steroids!!!

I just barely saw this news story on ESPN. It has something to do with supplements he took back in the year 2000 before fights or something.

Anybody else have any more info on this?

i just finished agruing with someone about this on a differnt forum, and yes, i crushed him with the case i presented :lol: .

jones failed a test given by the nsac in 2000. it was revealed he had taken a medicine which had chemicals which contained a steriod agent. (not anabolic or performance enhansing steriods we know off). they re -tested him again a short time latter(1 week) and he passed with flying colours. they say some substance tests go off with simple everyday medicines (such a certain cough medicines). i heard in this case, the nsac was using the same tests which the european olymipic commisions use, which are notorious for being overly sensitive.

for every title fight a boxer has, the nsac does check for steriods. if he/she is using, they will get caught. if jones was using, it would be way bigger than just a rumor.

recently antonio tarver tried using this rumor against roy. nobody took tarv seriously because they all knew the truth. talk about a low blow from tarv.

are you sure they weren't talking about sugar shane? he was recently caught up in the same mix, but came out clean in the end.

On the contrary, RJJ muscles don't point to steroid usage. He has definition but it took him very long to bulk up from Middle W to Light HW (one stone and a half difference ;)). His overall muscle look is way way beyond Randleman and Coleman.
But I'm sure RJJ fell on a magic potion cauldron when he was a kid and that gave him the best boxing skills ever. :lol:
