BAD BREED SUBMISSION FIGHTING – The Midwest Challenge

WHO: Bad Breed TV is proud to present BAD BREED SUBMISSION FIGHTING – The Midwest Challenge, an all no-gi submission fighting event with a 10-point must system. This event is the first in a national series and will be video taped for national DVD retail distribution through Bad Breed distribution.

Winning: Submission by verbal or tapping, judges score card, opponent disqualification.
FIGHTS
All fights are to be five minutes in length, with the exception of the championship and finals, which will be two five-minute rounds. Draws will be given a 1-minute overtime.
Tournaments will be a standard 4-man to 64-man bracket (depends on the number of participants) with double elimination. Award ceremonies will not interrupt the flow of the tournament and will be conducted in the awards area. Consolation championships, 3rd and 4th place matches and 1st and 2nd place matches will begin after presenting the fighters to those in attendance in a pre-fight ceremony.
JUDGING/SCORING:
The judging will be on a 10-point must system. Each fight will have three judges, each judge scoring the fight based on 10-9 on AGGRESSION, 10-9 on TECHNIQUE and 10-9 on CONTROL. The fighter with the highest score wins. Penalties are in 2 points increments, deducted from these final scores. One of the judges is the referee on the mat.
1. Three of three judges in agreement is unanimous decision.
2. Two of three is a majority decision.
3. Two of three votes for a draw, one votes for a winner is a majority decision.
4. Three voting for a draw, requires a re-vote awarding the match to the more aggressive fighter. If no decision at this point a 1-minute overtime is given.

WEIGHT DIVISIONS:
Weigh-ins must be completed the day of the event, at least a half-hour before event begins. Should a fighter not make weight on his/her first attempt; they may try again later if time allows.

PLUS 4-MAN SUPERFIGHT
LEGAL & ILLEGAL TECHNIQUES:
All Arm Locks, Shoulder Locks, and Wrist Locks. All Chokes (except “C” clamping the trachea). All Leg Locks, Ankle Locks, and Foot Locks.
Fouls are at the discretion of the referee, based on the intent of the Fighter committing the foul and the result of the foul.
The following may cause time to be stopped in the bout and warnings, recuperation time and/or disqualification being issued:
Flagrant disregard of the referee’s instruction’s
Striking of any kind
Biting
Hair Pulling
Head Butting
Fish Hooking
Gouging of any kind
Groin Techniques
Neck Cranks
Spiking on Head or Neck
Small Joint Manipulation
Scratching, Clawing, or Pinching
Unwilling to engage opponent
Intentionally delaying the contest due to improper equipment or by intentionally dropping or spitting out the mouthpiece.
Penalties can be assessed for the following:
Backing out of the Guard with out trying to pass.
Fleeing the competition area
Unsportsmanlike conduct.
Fouled fighters have up to five minutes to recuperate. Only referees can assess a foul. If the referee does not call the foul, judges, coaches cannot make that assessment. The Referee decision is final. Arguing or causing a disruption to the event will be grounds for disqualification and/or expulsion from the premises.
Disqualification occurs after any combination of three (3) fouls or after a flagrant foul. Fouls result in a TWO-POINT deduction from the
offending fighter’s score.
If a foul is committed:
1) Referee shall call time
2) Referees shall check the fouled fighter’s condition and safety
3) Referees shall then assess the foul to the offending fighter, deduct points, and notify the judges and official scorekeeper
If a bottom fighter commits a foul, unless the top fighter is injured, the fight will continue. If top fighter is injured, he is given up to 5 minutes to recover, after which they will return to top position if able to continue.
NOTE: A fighter that commits a foul deemed malicious (with the intent of causing injury above and beyond the scope reasonably expected in a bout of this nature), may be subject to bearing the medical, as well as related recovery and recuperation expenses of the fighter who is injured as a result of such fouling technique.
REFEREE DECISION
Note: Referee can stop a fight if an opponent refuses to submit and the Referee believes that the submission can result in immediate damage or injury.
PROTESTS
1. Only a coach or instructor may protest.
2. Only a violation of a rule may be protested, never a judges decision.
3. Protest must be made in writing within three business days of the event. Written complaints must site the rule violated and the details.
4. The coach or instructor must post a $20 bond with the written protest. The protest will be reviewed and if founds in the protesters favor, the bond will be returned. Otherwise, the bond is forfeited.
UNIFORMS:
Rash guards, fighting shorts, athletic shorts, and surf trunks are all acceptable, but cannot be grabbed or used by either fighter. No shoes of any kind can be worn. No oils, lotions, lubricants of any kind are permitted (Immediate Disqualification).
