Never in a million years would i have guessed it. It is finally time for Mike to call it a career even though he needs the cash. Now, more than ever, nobody is going to pay to watch him fight again..

It was a great fight...this guy Willaims had a rock solid chin and the 265 pound weight was too much..
Tyson injured his left knee at the end of the first. Great fight!!!
Tyson hit him w/ everything but the kitchen sink. Danny Willaims took it all and kept coming.

Wow! The loss to Douglas didn't mean much to me. He didn't look right versus Lennox, but this one was certainly unexpected and unfortunate. I'll try to reserve judement on Mike's future until I see the fight, but it sounds like any future Tyson fight should be on free tv at least.

If Mike is done...then he went out in a blaze...he went down swinging..in the end that is all you can really ask.

Tyson showed that he has nothing left now. He'll fight because he needs the money but he'll never be a contendor for a title ever again.

I've seen the division and I still think Tyson has no shot at being a contendor again.

Tyson doesnt invoke the fear and respect he once did. I think he is an all time great in the HW division. But certainly nowhere near the top guys like Ali, Frazier, Marciano, Johnson, Holmes, and others. Tyson ran from the better fighters of his day. He didnt want to fight Holifield until it appeared he was past his prime. He didnt want anything with Bowe or Foreman. Guys that will not back down to him. I liked Holifield because he is a real warrior. He fought the best guys out there.

I really hope Danny capitalises on this win. The guy has got a ton of talent, a huge heart (he won his british title with a dislocated shoulder) and a good jaw.
But mentally he is weak. I just hope If he does fight Klitchko danny's mind won't worry him out of the fight like it did against Sam, Sprott and Francis (in their first meeting). Hey he might even fight Audley Harrison finally.
Tyson isn't done, too muchmoney out there for him.

Wow, a 32 pound weight difference. I don't follow boxing too much. Is that kind of weight diff common in the heavy weights?

Tyson tore a ligament!

It was confirmed today by MRI that Mike Tyson suffered a complex tear of the lateral meniscus in his left knee during his KO4 loss to Danny Williams. Tyson arrived at the airport today in Louisville in a wheelchair with a cast on his leg. He is expected to have surgery on the knee when he arrives back in Phoenix. Iron Mike tore the ligament in the first round of last night's bout which hampered the leverage on his punches. It is not known when or if the 38-year-old Tyson will continue his comeback, but promoter Bob Arum told AP that a four-fight $100 million deal he had planned to offer is now off the table.

At first I wondered if the knee injury was an excuse, but its legit. Pretty hard to throw full power on one good leg. The reports I read showed Mike boxing good till the end.

im sitting here watching the fight again, now knowing he has a bum knee, you can see him wince when he throws, definately not a lot of power on his punches, he looks rather awkward, i think there should be a re-match, but its always about money with boxing

Thats unfortunate for Mike. Maybe he can get a rematch in the future.

The problem is that at Mike's age, if you don't take care of yourself like Jerry Rice, injuries happen with greater frequency. It could be a legitimate "excuse" for why Tyson lost this fight, but in reality it can be traced back to his lack of desire. I'm sure he took William's to be a stiff and didn't train seriously. He certainly hasn't been known for his dedication to training the last 10+ years, and not training properly = not being at your best = **** happens. Mike is getting old and hasn't taken care of his body. He could still be a force with committment and desire, but I don't think his greatest fans even believe he has those in any abundance.

damn that's unfortunate for Mike. I think God himself is against Tyson returning to the ring and getting out of debt. It's as if Mike must pay for life for all his years of raping women.

I thought he was in jail during the Bowe/Holyfield/Moorer/Foreman era? Like shamrocked already said, he has the same chances as anyone else in the division. I mean there's not even a clear champion right now, altough many see Vitali as the top dog, it only takes a guy like Mike to knock his ass out. I myself think that James Toney could become the next man, and he should get fights fast. He should challenge Byrd or Brewster.
