There wasn't much, thats for damn sure. But, in keeping with the Christmas spirit of generosity, here are the good things that happened in WWE last year.

1) Hispanic fans. They have surprised alot of people by proping up attendance. Eddy and Rey are the draw.
2) Eddy Guerrerro. His work and drawing power is about the only good thing going with the product.
3) Edge. I'm not an edge fan, but he at least gave 2 breaths to a product in need of cpr.
4) Trish Stratus. The best heel in the WWE and also a good worker. That she is pretty is the icing on the cake.
5) The Trish/Lita match. Not withstanding the scariest near death move I've ever seen, that match was hard hitting and damn good. Its one of the few matches I felt genuine emotion watching--mainly due to cringing at the moves of Lita landing hard after the face dive to the floor.
6) Batista slow turn. I didn't like the early tease that was b.s. but the slow turn is good. When HHH finally wrestles Batista, it won't be pretty but the build is good so far.
7) The ECW dvd. Excellent product and I'm glad the WWE didn't revise history as much as I expected.
8) The arab promos. I'm not debating whether the gimmick is in bad taste or not--just pointing out the mic work. I can't remember the little guys name--is that Duvari? Anyway, when the little guy starts ripping in Farsi (or whatever language it is) he has the best delivery I've seen in a long time. He doesn't have quite the scary face that Wallid "exorcist eyes" Ismail has but his delivery is great.
9) The McMahons have mostly stayed off of tv. The only thing that will be interesting when Steph comes back will be to see how square here jaw has become and how deep her voice will be. Watching her physical changes from the early days to the latest is interesting......

IMO Chris Benoit winning the title at Wrestlemania 20 was a highlight.

I agree NEMMAFan. I bought Wrestle Mania for that reason alone. Thats the only WWE PPV that I've watched this year.

It seems like years ago that Benoit and Guerrerro were champions.

There hasn't been much good to speak of in the WWE this year. The Benoit title win was good, but it would have been even better if he got to hold onto the title for at least 8 months to bring back some credibility to it. And JBL as the WWE champion? It may just be me, but I just don't buy into this JBL as a corporate heel character. Bradshaw was made by God to be a midcarder at best and the WWE is messing with fate here.

I agree with all your points, but these two in particular. I've been following Batista's career since before he came up to OVW. He's gone through a lot of changes, and he's finally on the right track. I'm crossing my fingers that they change from Orton vs HHH at 'Mania to Batista vs HHH instead.

Hassan (Mark Magnus) is amazing. I'm afraid this gimmick will kill his career, but he doesn't back down. Gotta give him that.
