After reading some of the criticisms of Bobby I think some people need to look at "reality tv" with a little more skepticism.

Here's 2 posts from the UG that I think should give some pause for thought:

Just for the folks at home Bob was sick as hell (somehow that got left out). I was told we would not have to make weight until week eight. I don't know what anyone else was told. Bob is a stud and the time has come for him to make another run at the sport. I give alot of props to fighters on the show for their ability, but Bob gets props for being the only one that would stand up to the producers and Dana. I was very suprised at the way Dana and Chuck talked about Bob"

1. No I did not apply. When I asked my manager Crazy Bob, he told me the show had already been cast. I got a call 1 day before final casting(3 wks)before filming started. I showed up and weight was an obious issue. They said they would like to have me on the show. I took a bunch of med tests and then went home. I received a packet for a background check 2 days later.
At this point I was semiretired. Last fight more than a year before, and had only trained like 10 times in 14 months(bjj). I had gone frome 215 to 252. You are right there is a lot you can do in 2-3 wks to get ready. So I started training. I received confirmation that I had passed meds, background, etc. 2 wks. prior to filming began.

At that point I was told,...

YOU DON'T HAVE TO MAKE WEIGHT UNTIL THE FINALS."

It's Reality TV.

Producers and Directors are notroious for lying to contestants and changing the rules of the game. Then they edit the **** out of it to make villains and heroes by even taking some things out of context to make a story line.

he still shouldn't have whined like a little baby when he was told to make weight.

I look at it from a different perspective that being that the fighters shouldn't have been decieved.

How did he whine ? He stood up for the guys who also were lied to.

yeah but none of us here have a shot to become a UFC fighter. If it wasn't for Chuck and that other guy, Southworth never would have lost that weight.

If you want to be an MMA fighter on the big level that you've got to suck it up and do what you have to do. There's no way Randy or Silva would complain about having to cut weight.

You don't know that none of us hear have a shot or not to be honest.
Yes Chuck , and Koshcheck helped Bobby quite a bit. That's called a TEAM bro.

You don't know that. You ever cut weight? I cut 30 pounds in 2 weeks. It ****ing sucked. Now do that in 24 hours. Think you could do it ?

I'm not trying to flame you. But think about it rationaly.

Yeah Southward went thru some brutal stuff. My training partner used to cut 30 to wrestle at 12x/13x in highschool and it took him a little less than 2weeks.

And theres no way to know what Silva or Randy would have done in that situation. They would have a good chance of cracking too.

I think a lot of the criticism is unjust. Who the **** wouldnt be bitching up a storm having to cut weight like that. Get real, its easy to sit behind a computer and talk ****. Id like to see the ones who are criticizing him go through what he did. Sure, he bitched a lot, maybe more than needed. But its tough what he did. He did and went win a fight. Hats off to him.
