MMA Promotions LLC in Springfield, Missouri is putting on an MMA

show entitled Global Super Fights. We will be having our show some

time between May and July of '2005. Our goal is to get amateur

fighters who would like to fight on that show and get them tentatively

signed up. We will know a more exact date in the near future when the

venue gives us a schedule of free dates. The show will use UFC rules

in a boxing ring and will be a sanctioned event through the ICSF

(International Combat Sports Federation) and the Missouri Athletic

Commission. If you or anyone you train with would be interested in

fighting in our show, we would love to hear from you by email or

telephone. My number is 417-880-3558. All of us love to fight and to

train so we are here for the fighters. What we'll do for the fighters

is give them $100 for "travel expenses", give them a copy of the entire

event on DVD, give them an event T-shirt, and provide the gloves to be

used in the fights. For those who come with another fighter that's

fighting in the show, we will also pay for your hotel stay as well and

get you a room together.

Thank you for your time and we hope to hear from you soon.

If you want to fight please email us your amateur record, a picture of yourself, your height, weight, and let us know if you have any tapes of you fighting or training that you can send us. We will use the info to create a fighter profile for future shows.

Thank you,

Brandon Schwin

100 dollars for 'travelling expenses'. most places at least pay for your hotel and take care of you while you're there and make it worth your while, even if it is an amateur fight. it mentions nothing about insurance. what happens if you lose a tooth or have a cut that requires stitches? or worse a broken bone needing surgery? so you just got a 5k hospital bill for 100 bucks, a dvd, and a tshirt. i mean it's great if you're looking to get ring time and that's very important as an amateur, but it clearly exploits the fighters. unfortunately that's how it goes in the beginning of this business. it's not always deliberate.

on that note, this sounds more like a show for local guys. it's not something meant to attract guys from all over. if i were looking to establish myself (and i were in missouri) it's something i would certainly do.
