Ok, here it is. I have been a WWE fan all my life. When I was little, my dream was to be a WWE(was WWF at the time obviously) wrestler. Unfortunately, WWE is obsessed with bigger guys. When WCW died, it was that much worse for smaller guys like myself, because WWE cant run a cruiserweight division to save their lives. So My chances of ever making it big, went from slim, to none.

I got training anyway, simply because, wrestling is something Im a life long fan of, and I enjoy even wrestling Independent shows. But naturally, seeing my chances of making the big time shrink even more, from an already tiny speck of hope to practically non existant, was depressing. Until lately.

WWE has slowly began to deteriorate. Let me elaborate.
WWE was doing well with its big guys. But when WCW introduced a great Cruiserweight division to the American audience, it became highly popular. WWE looks down on cruiserweights, and wont push them. Guys like Rey Mysterio have been told to slow down their style from what it was in WCW. Most likely so they dont outshine the giant counterparts on the show.

Secondly, Triple H married Stephanie McMahon. This has made him "management", as he sometimes helps run both RAW and Smackdown with Stephanie in Vinces Absence. Not to mention, Triple H is now Champion for life. Other than Wrestlemania XX, notice how Triple H has "lost" the belt without being beaten a few times(triple threat matches where he wasnt pinned), only for him to regain the belt. Hes up to 10 time World Champion. Obviously they are pushing him to break Ric Flairs record.
You can say that Batista is going to win the belt at Mania. But WWE has already shown some concern that there are no major heels to feud with Batista after him and Triple H are done. Of course theres not. They center RAW around Triple H, how are they gonna develope a major heel with Triple H on TV most of the night? This is an obvious excuse they will rely on to take the belt off Batista a couple months after Mania, and slap it right back on Triple H, much like they did with Benoit and Orton last year.
Alot of this has to do with Stephanie McMahon being head writer, which she does a crappy job at. She not only shows favortism towards her hubby, but angers the rest of the roster with her poor writing skills.
The only way WWE will have any hope, is if Shane McMahon takes over WWE after Vince decides to bow out, because if Steph and Triple H take over completely, which they will, WWE is doomed. WWE is the only BIG game in town, and they are still only half filling arenas, and ratings arent nearly as high as they once were.

NWA TNA however offers a glimmer of hope. NWA TNA offers the mix of big guys, and the X division, which features cruiserweights. NWA TNA likes putting guys on TV who can actually work decent matches. My dream is for NWA TNA to grow bigger, and gain a bigger, and better audience, and force McMahon to either swallow his pride, and get a decent writer in WWE, or shut down. Because soon the fans will realize, WWE just isnt a quality product anymore. Its a watered down soap opera, who relies more on making family happy, rather than making good business decisions.

Bottom line is, I saw my childhood dream disinigrate before my very eyes, as Stephanie and Triple H have run the quality product of WWE into the ground.

If I ever make it anywhere, I hope its to NWA TNA, or to Japan, where they still care about the quality of in ring matches.

You make fine points of why WWE stinks so bad.

I do like to point out that I think Stephanie was writer way before she got married to Triple H. The writer biases do show though.

NWA-TNA does have great action and sometimes I sit and watch. It doesn't have the same feel for me as WWF did a long time ago.

I like the new TNA much better now that they've toned down the redneck ****. in the beginning i orderd the first couple months worth of TNA for the x-division. I tolerated Toby Keith, flying elvis', NASCAR, the Dupps ect. but what got my 10 bucks was the cruiser weight action. I am totally with Choke on that. Nobody gives them the stage they deserve.

I don't watch TNA anymore for the same reason I don't really watch WWE: I'm sick of Seeing Jeff Jarret and HHH main event constantly. And that's not liable to change for any length of time because blood's thicker than water. So Jarret will ride that spotlight into the ground until it crashes and they lose their little pissant tv deal with fox, and they're back in tennesee running house shows in a bingo hall. the only reason I get to see TNA at all is i have a dvr to record it when their weekly show comes on at 2AM.

When I want to see good cruiserweight matches i dust off the old ECW tapes. Also there's a little fed on the east coast called ECWA- they have a cruiser tournament every year called the super 8 that's always stacked with crazy talent. CZW gets no respect, but their Best of the Best tournaments were awesome. that Rukus kid is unbelivable. If you like that style, those are some good tapes to check out. ROH finally got some dvds in stores too, they're really good.

I've been watching AAA and CMLL lately. I get some spanish channels on my dish. They're not nearly as wild as they were in the past, but some good matches there. Funny, I can't understand the language, but the angles make more sense to me than WWEs lately...

She was not head writer back before they became a "couple". They became a couple when Vince Russo was on his way out of the company. As you will notice though, Triple H wasnt shoved down our throats back then, like he is today. RAW IS HHH

I used to love CZW. I was classmates with Nick Gage and Justice Pain aka Nick and Chris Wilson. I even went to their backyard stuff before they got trained.
Unfortunately, John Zandig is a mark, and likes to have people stay champion for far too long. Look at Justice Pain. He was the champion for several years, because Zandig loved him. Then when Messiah showed up, he loved him and gave the strap to him.
The Best of the Best tournament is great. Im also glad Trent Acid is gone, who Zandig was also a mark for, and pushed way too hard. Trents good, dont get me wrong, but after hearing about his hissy fit temper tantrums backstage when asked to put someone over, made me lose alot of respect for him.
Its good to see some great flyers around though, like Ruckus, Sonjay Dutt, and M-Dogg 20

Choke... I guess you're right there. And yes, cruiserweights don't get the push in WWE. But this is why I have very big respect for Eddie Guerrerro because management could not deny him the lime light.

Eddie is great. Its just a shame its so much harder for the smaller, more talented guys. WWE places size over talent.

Japan is by far the best wrestling on the market. They work stiff, and treat it more like its a sport than a soap opera.

Yeah, pro-wrestling even hit the sports pages there.

But I think pro-wrestling seems to be struggling in Japan because of the proliferation of MMA and K-1.

It's still a whole world better than WWE and WWF (20 years ago...) is far better than WWE now.

Makes me wonder what WWE will be like in the next 10 years...

The fanbase over there is fine. Infact, alot of the American wrestlers who work regularly in Japan say how great the fans over there are compared to over here. They still respect wrestling, and still stand and applaud it. Some fans even bring the wrestlers gifts.

As far as WWE 10 years from now, if no new big WCW like companies shoot up forcing WWE to get better writers, and talent, and force WWE into not revolving the company around Triple H, WWE will be dead. They are already tarping off half the seats at their TV tapings, because they cant fill arenas anywhere. And House shows have been pitiful, only getting like 5,000 fans, which is horrible for WWE.

I miss the times when the NFL was offering big money to Vince to move wrestling off Monday nights, because wrestling was drawing bigger ratings than Monday Night Football. But those days are long gone.

[QUOTE=ChokeTillHeTapsUnfortunately, John Zandig is a mark,

That is a very good way to sum it up. He's a mark who runs a show.

I liked them a lot, tho i haven't ordered anything from them lately. Most of the internet people are quick to put them down because of the deathmatch stuff they did, but i thought CZW had a good show with some amazing young talent.

You know justice pain? damn, that's crazy! i have tapes of him wrestling lobo in 99 back when they were skinny little kids! that fans bring the weapons match at un'f'n'beliveable was the sickest. I also have some great matches of him in BJPW on tape. I haven't heard anything about him since he went to XPW. Hope he bounced from there. that's the backyard of backyards.

i don't know any wrestlers personally. But I delivered a pizza to the Brooklyn Brawler once.

Im lucky, I grew up in South Jersey, about 15 minutes from Philly. A Hot Spot for wrestling.
Justice Pain and Nick Gage both went to my high school. Their backyard stuff was sick. Justice Pain used to do flips out of trees.
Dave Mysterio(a ripoff gimmick of Rey Mysterio) aslo went to my high school.

I had a few other friends in the business as well before I myself got trained. I went with Jeff Rocker up to CT, and hung out at former ECW stars Jason Knights house. I also hung backstage at Jasons show and ate wings with Balls Mahoney, and John Kronus. Crash Holly and Stevie Richards were there as well, visiting people backstage.
I was also friends with Rockin Rebel.
Then when I tried out at King Kong Bundys wrestling school, Bundy put me in the ring with the late Jerry Tuite(WCW's The Wall, later known as Malice). King Kong Bundys school is where I ended up going to get my training, because Ace Darling was the in ring trainer.

I was also lucky enough to meet alot of other stars as a kid, such as Kerry Von Erich, Ted Dibiase, Davey Boy Smith, and many others. But most of those guys I met at autograph shows.
