I thought it was surprising that Josh was more gassed than Diego.

I thought the same since Josh is ripped but all those knees certainly took their toll, and Diego damn had him tapping at the end of that 1st round...

NSAC judges.............

What do you expect?

Yeah, Diego would've won by sub on that guillotine at the end of the first if he had 1 more minute. After they broke, Kos' face was blue...

Bump, that must have taken a LOT out of Josh.

kos looked like he was in a car wreck at the end of that fight. But you gotta give the guy respect, he held his own with a guy who has a ton more experience than him. I think koscheck could be dangerous if he improved his striking and submissions...he has great potential.

Josh has wrestling skills and as a result of that he has decent stamina. Unfortunately all his talking about how there's more about him is complete BS. He always had his arm extended and I kept thinking "is he giving a target so Diego misjudges the distance or does he have any idea how to box". Like everyone said he doesn't know what to do when he's on the ground, there were atleast 3 times where he could of had a rear choke on diego but didn't go for it, one time his arm was around diego's neck but he moved it around his chest, I really was trying to understand what he was trying to do, just take down and try to muscle it out with Diego? He did do a pretty good job of staying away from Diego's submissions (well except for the last 10 seconds of the first round :)).

To Josh's credit he only had a 4-0 record, one of which was against Chris, and seeing both of those fights you can probably guess how he won the other 3, just took the guy down and did very little, so he's not really a particularlly experienced fighter. Give this kid some years and actually teach him what to do when on the ground, forget all that Muai Tai crap, let him learn to fight on the ground, submissions, etc, then work on his standup game.

A couple of those high kicks Kos threw had some stank on 'em, but Diego blocked them...

I'm sure he's been training heavily in subs and boxing but it hasn't become a part of his muscle memory yet. In the heat of battle, all the rudimentary training in striking and subs goes out the window, and he goes by pure instinct which is based solely on his wrestling.

It's just a matter of more time and experience for his body to incorporate his training but there are questions if he has the heart to continue fighting in mma.

BruceLee, I'm curious as to why you think that "but there are questions if he has the heart to continue fighting in mma" in regard to Kos.

that's very true...doesn't matter how much you train....how good you are comes out when in the heat of battle...you fall back on what is comfortable. btw...whoever called muay thai "crap" is out of his mind.

just what Chuck said about "if he still has his heart into fighting" at the end of the show.

Kos comes across in the interviews as being scared and terrified.
I don't think Kos has ever taken a beating, like the one he did agaisnt Deigo in his Life. (Sometimes a beating like that will be enough for someone to leave the sport).
Kos seems like a pretty boy. I don't know if he's willing to look ugly to be succesful in MMA. "He's a lover, not a fighter"

So these are the questions that he has to overcome if he is going to dedicate himself to the sport.

BruceLee hit it on the head...no pun intended. I think Kos was wearing lip gloss or something in some of his interviews. I've noticed he looks scared too, but like dana said a while back he's hard to read. Once he gets in the ring he has that same expresion, but he goes to work...doesnt act like someone who is scared.

Josh is like a D-class version of Mark Coleman.

Koscheck needs to learn how to punch when he's on the ground.

become ugly?, besides strange brew koscheck was the ugliest guy on the show :P, but lets save that arguement for another forum :)

That was driving me ****ing crazy...he stopped fighting when it went to the ground. I think he's fighting those years of wrestling where the game is over when the guys back is to the mat.

I have to say it again, Diego won, but some of the guys on this forum make him sound unstoppable. He's all about Jiu Jitsu which is fine, but he gave up his back to JOSH. how does Josh Kosheck get your back? luckily for Diego, Josh has never heard of a rear naked choke.

That must make Diego an F class version of David Terrell.....

Diego is going to take it. he has fought more then anyone else on the show (i think?) that was his 3rd match and after the first i was a fan. the thanking jesus for helping him beat someone up was kinda odd becuase i think jesus is about love but ok!

I had that feeling during the fight. Josh to me lacks that killer instinct, and that is something that you can't teach. It's why Leben will continue to fight and why I wouldn't be surprised if Josh stops fighting. Like BruceLee said, he's probably never taken a beating like that before, and if you're not tough mentally, it's something that can make you very easily give up the sport.

I do think Josh has potential to be a great fighter. With his wrestling skills, he should be able to control every match he's in. The question is, will Josh ever become aggressive enough to finish a fight decisively? Right now, that's hard to answer.

I think you're putting too much thought into it. Diego doesn't seem like the deepest guy around. :)

I gotta agree with BruceLee on this, it looked like Josh (especially as he got tired) was just going into wrestling mode. His punches almost looked like they were going head-first instead of fist-first, which is why he ended up taking about 10 knees to the face.
