Default Does this sound like a good idea?

I am looking to practice BJJ with a partner outside of class, but I have no one in my area that I know of that trains in BJJ let alone someone who wants to train extra time. Has anyone ever looked for a training partner on Craig's List? I'm not sure if I should take it that far or just purchase a grappling dummy to practice with. Anyone have any experience with anything like that? Anyone have experience with a grappling dummy? Are they any good?

Just ask someone from your class? Post a buletin at your dojo?

    Craigslist is creepy.

Yeah, I thought about that but no one lives close enough to me to train daily. I tried to convince my buddies but after drilling a few times they bail.

Just make your own. You don't need to spend 700 on a grappling dummy when you can go to home depot and make one for $45.

Grappling Dummy's are great in conjunction with Instructional DVDs or if you just want to drill a move or sweeps.

    Craigslist ad:

SWM looking for some grappling time with a partner who isn't afraid to get sweaty, my place or yours. I am not picky so as long as you have a pulse and can go for long periods at a time with some guys balls in your face we will get along just fine.

I am DD free so I expect you to be as well.

Hold up.. I didn't even think that might happen. Better make it clear... I want to be the one doing the choking. A masochist would the ideal though.

grappling dummy is just a part of a training but it was really good if you have a partner to fight with.
