    Default Ongoing WWE thread

Thought I would keep this a little more tidy.A very solid PPV last night leads to raw tonight.I attended the house show a few months ago and felt underwhelming by the effort put forth, but after attending the PPV last night I was blown away by the effort of the wrestlers and the stage show.I think the 250 dollar ticket price a little steep for this economy and the overall lack of demand for the top tickets seem to show this. The Nexus has been a great angle and Im looking forward to who will put an end to their run.

Nexus is the first fresh angle in forever. Invaders aren't new, been done forever. Rookies turning on vets isn't new (Sammartino facing protege Larry Z was huge) and tv reality shows aren't new. But, mix it all up and the Nexus invasion seem fresh and new. It also benefits from the WWE having done the same matchups for the last 4 years running and people are tired of Edge, Jericho, Cena, Big Show yada yada yada in the same old matches. Its just too bad Brian got frozen out on the deal since he was the guy the show was designed to showcase in the first place.

It's still just a jobber invasion IMO. There's really no where to go with the storyline once they have to start matching up 1 on 1. You can only go so long with 7 on 1, 4 on 1 beatdowns.

There nothing really special about the Nexus wrestlers, to make me think that they would succeed as solo or tag practioners. Maybe if they had a Giant or Enforcer or soemthing but they are all about aveage size.

I like Wade but I just don't think Slater (the red haired guy) has it. I wanna like him but I'm not impressed.
The rest of the guys seem like jobbers to me too.

At least Vince is doing something....anthing. The matches with the top guys were old 4 years ago and not getting any fresher.

The Nexus angle is done it started out incredibly hot, but then cooled off within a week. It began as something akin to the NWO on WCW or UWFI challenging New Japan, but it ended up with the same old junk happening, Cena putting himself over the entire group night in and night out.

Even Sting got beat down by the NWO a good number of nights, and when he didn't he had to use a baseball bat to keep things even.

Honestly, this is just another example of WWE striking gold, and then leaving the mine the next day.

They did it with WCW, ECW, the NWO, Goldberg, Flair, the return of the Rock, and now Nexus. People can praise Vince McMahon until they are blue in the face. He is a good business man, but he absolutely sucks as a legitimate promoter. Nexus is just another example of that.

Wade Barrett has definitely benefitted the most from Danielson being gone as he is the focal point of Nexus. I don't know that I've heard any of the others talk at all. Looks like they are basically having Wade play the role of the new Steve Regal.

And it doesn't look like the WWE has any plans to bring back Danielson anytime soon. He is working Puerto Rico and all the indy shows.

Maryse has more charisma than all the wrestlers put together but still can't wrestle much; but shes better than the other generic divas. Too bad Trish Stratus isn't still around because her vs Maryse would be fun eye candy.

I havent seen any of season two of TUF so saw a couple clips on youtube. Percy Watson is the only one with any life and he could be funny as hell; definitely a talker even as green as he is. If they bring him along right, I wonder if he might one day be a Jericho level talker? I'd have him grow out his hair and do it jeri curls though for the full effect

And WOW is Kaval tiny. On the indy circuit it wasn't as obvious as it is in the WWE land of giants. He makes Rey look tall.
