    The reason for high ground is to escape rising water and predators. They could have stopped about ten feet up the tree and been fine. That thing must sway like hell in a storm.

    Right, that of course makes sense. I was speaking specifically in regards to building atop a 30 meter tree. Also, I'm not entirely even sure they use the structure regularly, or if it's just for recreation/ceremonial use. It may have been another tribe but in the same documentary they also show them building ground shelters.

    You've posted a number of pics from your home improvement projects over the years. Since you've been away from the forum for such a long time, you must have accomplished quite a bit. How about putting up some photos of the renos you completed or have in progress since you were last posting regularly?
