It just felt like a huge letdown with hardly any resolution.

It's a cliff hanger ending. I thought they were pretty cool looking:

Keep in mind, that they don't have Avengers money to spend per every episode. If they're going to air White walkers for more than a few seconds per season, they need something doable. CGI ain't cheap yo.

I think the third was by far the best book of the series. Lots of **** goes down in that one.

I like the show alright, but as usual the screen can't come close to matching the books. I'd rather Martin spend his time finishing the series than writing scripts for the show.

Without getting into too much detail, is each season pretty much a book?

Yes, but I've read somewhere (maybe here) they will split the third book into two seasons. Stands to reason as it's the longest book and a lot of stuff happens in it. Would be hard to squeeze that into ten hours.

Currently 5 books, supposed to be completed in 7.

Book 4 and 5 can almost be seen as one big book. As book 4 takes place in the southern part of Westeros and only those characters in that part of the land are in the book. Book 5 takes place at same time in the Northern part. Though towards the end of book 5 it catches up (to book 4) and moves forward. yes a little confusing.

Quick folks, get your limited edition GOT dvd now with Bush head while supplies last!

"Game of Thrones" creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss apologized for putting a prosthetic head of President George W. Bush on a spike, hours after news that their show had done so hit the internet.

In apologizing, the show-runners gave an explanation, if you can call it that, having to do with needing heads-on-spikes in bulk.

"We use a lot of prosthetic body parts on the show: heads, arms, etc." Benioff and Weiss said. "We can't afford to have these all made from scratch, especially in scenes where we need a lot of them, so we rent them in bulk. After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush."

They went on: "In the DVD commentary, we mentioned this, though we should not have. We meant no disrespect to the former President and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise."

It emerged on Wednesday that in a DVD commentary for season 1, the show creators said that one of the many decapitated heads that appeared on "Game of Thrones" last season was a prop likeness of Bush.

"The last head on the left is George Bush," said Benioff, in the DVD commentary.

"George Bush's head appears in a couple beheading scenes," added Weiss.

"It's not a choice, it's not a political statement," explained Benioff. "It's just, we had to use what heads we had around."

HBO, which airs the bloody hit series, issued its own statement of apology.

"We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste. We made this clear to the executive producers of the series who apologized immediately for this inadvertent careless mistake. We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production."
