Is there gonna be a season?
What rookies will emerge as stars?
Who wins in the east?
Who wins in the west?
So many questions to be answered.
Oh and fxck the lakers.

F*&^ the Lakers is all we know for sure at this time but things aren't looking good.
It almost seems like the players are writing off the season already and for teams like the Celtics where the clock is ticking on some veterans THIS SUCKS!

Yea celtics seem to be on there last legs. If there is a season I would absolutely LOVE to see the nuggets do well just because I cant stand Carmelo (and to be fair the nuggets should do well for themselves regardless).
I'd contribute, but this whole situation is depressing and I don't really wanna think about it again until the season is announced as happening or canceled.
There won't be a season next year. Absolutely no way.
Not having a season seems like a dildo move if you ask me. They are coming off one of the best, and most highly watched season/playoffs in years and your gonna kill that with a lockout?
Yeah. They are.
Apparently the owners aren't making enough money (to the point where some teams are saying that they'll lose significantly less money next year if they just don't play at all).
It's probably a bunch of BS - but it is what it is. You have owners who signed a BAD deal on the last go round and they're not wanting to do it this time.
Then you have the players who all want to be overpaid with guaranteed contracts and all that stuff. They don't want to give in at all because it will mean that they lose direct money. They know they got a hell of a deal last time.
Look at it this way. The players are a 10 and the owners are a 1.
During the last negotiation, the owners gave in to the players demands and signed a contract that was an 11 (waaaaaaaaaaay favored towards the players). The owners are wanting to scale that back to a 4 or a 5 now (which is what it should have been to begin with) and the players are saying that the owners should be happy that the players aren't asking for a 12 or 13, and the owners should be satisfied with what is already there.
Then it got nasty and the owners just locked the players out. No discussions, no nothing. No season.
At this point in time - there's usually some talking going on. Some dialogue. There's nothing. No one wants to talk to anyone and players are going elsewhere to play.
I can't see a season next year. They're too far apart.
this is the only opinion i've ever read on the issue that is THAT far on the owners' side without coming from an actual owner. you paraphrased exactly what they say. why so much of their koolaid on yo lips?
simmons wrote a fun-to-read article on the situation a few weeks ago filled with ideas that have a 0% chance of happening, but sound reasonable in the article. you know... his usual article.
the owners need SOME kind of protection from themselves. something that somehow takes away their ability to give gilbert arenas or rashard lewis or eddy curry a bajillionty dollar deal. i mean, one of their biggest issues is that they run their teams like ****ing idiots.
The players are completely to blame for this shutdown in negotiations. NBA salaries are already hugely inflated and the majority of players lack financial responsibility anyways (something like 60% of NBA players file for bankruptcy within 5 years of retirement).
It sucks and we as fans get pissed on by the players that we support.
