I really enjoyed seeing Micah Miller get pummelled. Just 'cause his pre-fight interview/statement thing came off like he was trying to do lines from Shakespeare with ridiculous dramatic pauses. And everyone likes it when the pimple scarred little underdog dude beats the tall tan pretty dude with experience.

That knee looked illegal to me too, but I don't have a recording to check.

I'm a little surprised they didn't edit the show better. They had the three most exciting fights first and then just sort of let the show trail off. It's not like a live show where you can't control the pacing of it, the only thing you'd really need to do is make sure the brothers were shown in the order they fought and then pace out the more exciting with the more dull fights to keep people interested. Ah well.

Just watched it, and the knee was most definitely an illegal knee. The guy clearly had his one knee still on the mat.

I was also pretty impressed by the one guy (can't remember his name) who chained like three submissions in a row. Went from a Kimura, to an armbar, then finished him off with a triangle choke, it was pretty slick. Overall, awesome episode with some really nice finishes. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

I haven't been able to get through the last 3-4 season of TUF due to boredom and poor fights...I downloaded the first episode of the this season and if that wasn't the best episode of TUF ever, I don't know what is. It was so good I logged on here to say something about it.

There were some great fights and even the losers pretty much all looked talented. Was hoping the Japanese guy would make it but I guess we'll have to wait longer for the next Great Asian Hope.

Some of those fights were really brutal. That one Swede (named Akira, of all things!), the KO he scored was brutal. He cracked that dude so many times with just horrible power shots, and as Dana & Co. were talking about his chin, he just body bags him with one last big punch. Diego Brandao looked pretty awesome. Same with Dennis Bermudez. Bermudez fought an amazingly tough guy and came out on top, so for me, I think he's the favourite this season. TJ Dillashaw fought kinda like a not nearly as good Urijah Faber. The guy that beat Carson Beebe looked pretty damn good, too.

I'm pumped about this season though, seems like they really got some really good fighters.

YES! So glad that he didn't make it onto the show. That guy is a complete tool that thinks that he's better than everyone else. Hope that humble pie was good.

Super excited about this season. Typically speaking, these are my favorite weight classes because, as someone mentioned, they usually have some great speed.

The guy with the green hair needs to go next, as everytime he appears on the screen, I think of Chia pets....then I think of Christmas (as those commericals always seem to run around that time)...then I think about what I want for Christmas....then I missed something on the show.

definetly a good start to the season. The season preview also makes it look like its gonna be a ton of fun. I don't know if that knee was illegal, looked pretty close, but he was my favorite fighter of the night!!

I saw that too, but thought because no one said anything (coaches, Dana etc) that maybe it missed or something. Will also need to rewatch that, because the tides changed there, but maybe he wasn't at 3 points and had literally just had his hand off the ground?

Also loved how Dana explained the guy that beat the Miller brother was all sad when they told who he's fighting, Dana X's him before the fight starts then its like WHOA.

Dana tells him, I need to talk to you. I need some white out over here hahaha

It makes sense to put the action up front to hook viewers. If they had a good fight followed by some mediocre ones, then some people would have turned the channel. That said, the latter half of the show was a bit flat, I agree, but I understand why they packaged it the way they did.

But it will only get better as the remaining fighters are almost all gladiators, it seems.

Either way, it's always best to record these programs, especially a two-hour debut. Not only can you zip over the commercials, you can race through the final few minutes of a fight that's clearly a snoozer, or back it up if there's a surprise KO.
