Default What do you think of this?

I checked this one and it'll definitely help you remembering those grappling techniques.. what's your take? www.igrapple.com

    It's kind of stupid imo.

That kind of stuff is learned through repetition and there is a reason that a beginner doesn't have all of the techniques available to them at once. What this program ends up doing is teaching piss poor technique because a beginner is going to see options that they're not ready for.

In addition, a seasoned grappler has no use for this program. A lot of the techniques they're showing are basic techniques that anyone with a grappling pedigree will already have dialed in as "second sense."

I've only been grappling for 6 months but I agree with Bulldog. I checked out a video online about guard passing and then I tried to apply i at the next training session and I failed miserably. I'll just take in the techniques we drill at practice and the advice I ask for from teammates and the coach.

I don't have as much experience as Bulldog, but I don't have quite such a negative impression from the video. I've had the idea of building my own database very much like the one in the video just to keep track of all the stuff I forget. I do agree that this is not a resource for learning a technique, and it won't replace muscle memory through drilling, but it could be good as a reference. Basically, instead of asking the same damn question you asked a year ago (and forgot), you have your video notebook to look back at.

What I don't trust (and a major reason why I wouldn't pay the price their asking for this tool) is the quality of the techniques. If I were to buy this product, I'd want to use it as a starting place for building my own database. I'd want to be able to add my own videos and at times replace the ones in the Igrapple. I'd also want the ability to rename techniques or redraw the schematic to better represent my BJJ "tree" of techniques.

Edit: oops didn't check the dates in this thread. Guess the fact BD posted should have been an indicator.

you are better off with gracie university. they go in order and build on each move. i rather have rener and ryron teach 30 minute to a hour for each lesson on video and actually understand the move. this guy doesnt know crap.
