    Monte Carlo Day 5

    Part 1

    Part 2

Sebastien Loeb wins the Monte Carlo Rally. Dani Sordo holds second, and Petter is third. Loeb also wins the power stage for maximum points. Solberg receives a suspended ban for Sweden due to speeding after the last stage of the rally. He could get disqualified if caught speeding again. Petter sure is a repeat offender as far as speeding goes.

Eurosport talks break down. WRC is going to Sweden without a global television coverage. FIA has advised organizers to produce their own TV deals.

This is absolute madness. WRC will lose sponsors and manufacturers with this bit of news! Could this be one of the reasons why BMW has decided to can the Prodrive, thereby terminating the Mini WRC run?

    Notable retirements:

SS2. Paulo Nobre WRC MINI Team Portugal John Cooper Works WRC Went off
SS8. Jari Ketomaa Ford Fiesta RS WRC Accident
SS8. Dani Sordo Prodrive MINI John Cooper Works WRC Went off

    Notes:
Loeb hit a snow bank and lost two minutes to extract his car.
Hirvonen duked it out with Latvala but lost out when his tyres wore out.
Petter Solberg spun and lost time but the crucial decision to save his tyres meant he was 1.8 seconds behind Hirvonen at the end of the day.
Sordo went off and hit the snow bank which damaged the radiator. The engine then overheated and by the time Sordo stopped the car, it was too late. It was beyond repair.

Loeb spins in SS7 and now is 3 minutes behind the leaders. Top three has not changed with Latvala leading the charge with a much larger gap to Hirvonen. Petter is in third with Mads Ostberg chasing him in fourth.

Latvala wins despite the late tyre puncture. Hirvonen is second with Ostberg third following a tyre puncture on Petter's tyre. Sebastien Loeb finished 6th.

    Power stage points:
    Loeb +3
    Petter +2
    Latvala +1

Very sad news. I also don't see how Ford, Citroen and other sponsors will stick around without TV coverage. WRC has some of the most exciting racing around and yet we get little to no coverage here in the states.
He's got a heart as big as Tito's f*cking head.
