One hundred years of mugshots. Interesting to look at the faces of old-time criminals. You go to school with any of these folks, Cbear? Or maybe you skipped school to help some of these guys hold up stagecoaches?

I couldn't find any official news story about it after a brief check, but here's what the guy said who posted the picture on another forum.
Other source:This is actually on one of the lines in NE New Mexico. We got a call based on some aerial patroles that were being done. A Transmission line crew and the DNR got dispatched. They attempted multiple ways to get him down including pelting him with a paintball gun. In the end a couple of guys were able to get up in a bucket truck and chase him down the pole with some hot sticks. He was alright.
So long story short, he was either scared to make the climb down or was just chilling fully capable of climbing down at his leisure, but either way the power company wasn't having none of it so pelted the **** outta him and shocked him til he went down. This Bear found on Tri-State’s 115kV structure last week. This was found on our Clapham-Gladstone (New Mexico) Line this past weekend. A bucket truck was sent out, and the bear was “removed alive-with the assistance of Game and Fish Department. Scare tactics-and persuasion with snare stick”.

Jeez that makes me a little sick seeing a poor bear up that high. And its a tagged bear so either has been in trouble before or they are tracking it for some reason. Tag in left ear.

WTF? Why would they shoot him with a paintball gun? Might as well let him figure out how to get down by himself rather than make him fall to his death. Very cool bear though. Also, where the hell do those poles come from? LOL That must be a massive tree that they get those from.

Not to mention that there is zero ground cover to need poles that high. hell a 10 foot pole would be tall enough. And I agree just leave the bear alone and it will climb down, probably at night when it feels more comfortable. I suspect they thought he would touch a power line and blow the lights to half the state but considering he climbed all around them it wasnt an issue. just leave the bears alone.
