Trulli isnt in f1 anymore.Sponsorships are hard to come by these days,so the lower end teams such as the one he was on,sell their seats.Trulli didnt bring any money to the table,so they let him go for a guy who has a lot of Russian money backers. The Red bulls have been the team to beat due to their boy wonder designer Adrian Newey, but the Renualt engine seems down on power compared to the Mercedes Benz engine. No new drivers on the scene to make waves. This is the season opener in about 6 hours.

Jarno is an ok driver that couldn't cut the mustard. Not much to really say about him. Same thing with Rubino too.

Schu DNF-ed on what looks like a gearbox fault. Rosberg looks unimpressive in race pace as is usually the case. Didn't finish the race... saw Button leading at the end of the first stop stints... nice to see McLaren up and about.

Maldonado throws the car away with 2 laps to go while in 5th place.Highlights of the race Kimi yelling "why are they waving blue flags at me every time I come by" followed by "His wing is falling apart in front of me" referring to Kobiashi car self destructing.Nico big disappointment, but I guess thats been his whole career

Not at all surprised to see Vettel in 2nd. Never doubted Red Bull Racing and their wonder designer. If anything, Vettel's grass excursions reaffirmed what I've always thought of him as a driver.

I've noticed Nico Rosberg as the Saturday hero kind of driver. Always good in qualifying and just goes backwards in the race. Can't say I was surprised to see that happen although his performance is partially influenced by a shoddy gearbox. Schumi could have finished in a podium if it weren't for the gearbox too.

Great job by McLaren even with the fuel error that put the team in fuel saving mode. Jense did a good job to win it.

Ferrari has a lot of work to do. Massa killed his tyres and Alonso couldn't get any higher. Decisions have to be made really soon about the exhaust. Where they left it just looks so unfinished.

Kimi was very fast as well.Im not sure he wins a race, but I think multiple podiums could happen with a decent qualifying.Problem is he seemed to have not learned much from his time away and lost patience and made a silly pass on Kobyashi that he was lucky to come away from unscathed.

I personally think Kimi simply benefited from the other people eager to take themselves out of the race. He was equally eager to take himself out too. I suppose Kimi did a good job over all... but I'm definitely not impressed. I think P6, P7, P8 suits him well.

In short, DRS is a non-factor here. My brother is way more excited about this than I am. The guy is a big Schumi nut and he thinks the new Merc is a step in the right direction. Hiring Bob Bell and Aldo Costa definitely had made this car much more competitive so that's pretty much a given in spite of the big fat zero Aussie outing. Nico needs to learn how to use his tyres which has constantly been a problem in his Merc race stints.

I hope McLaren takes it again. They are the only car that doesn't use the ugly stepped nose design. Man F1 cars these recent years have been a total eye sore.

Okay... maybe they don't have the money to adopt a high chassis design. Probably a left over from last year.
