Default TUF 15 Ep. 2 discussion:

Kind of an odd finish in the fight, with an out of position head kick meeting a (out of position?) shot, resulting in KO via knee to the head. I found the post-fight interviews somewhat awkward, perhaps they should do away with immediately talking with the loser in the case of a KO finish like this one. I did like that they selected the next fight at the very end of the program, though. I kind of thought they'd do something like that. Again, it was a little awkward with Cruz telling Faber to pick his own fighter and seemingly nobody wanting to fight Lawrence, but Cristiano vs. Lawrence should be a good fight regardless.

one thing that annoyed me was the countdown to live counter in the corner. As it is I hate when stations slap there logos on movies I watch tv (like I don't know what channel I am watching) it becomes distracting and annoying. But this damn counter annoyed me to know end. F*** I'm watching the show, I'm gonna watch the damn live fight, I don't need a stupid counter.

Fight was fun, shocked and liked Cruz left it up to Faber to pick his guy for the fight, and notice how not one person on his team jumped up for the chance.

***i'll wait for a few more shows before I make judgement on the new format***

Yeah, the countdown was probably unnecessary. The only two reasons they have it that I can think of would be to hype the live element of the show, or to tip off people uninterested in the drama and training aspects of the show as to when the fight is. So far I'm unsold on the idea of the live fights each week. I mean, as it stands 1 regular episode in, we got basically a run of the mill TUF episode with quite a bit less polish on it due to the absence of some post-production editing in favour of a live fight. The live fight, while a cool premise I suppose, doesn't really add much to the show. I mean, when most people watch a normal episode of TUF during it's original airing they're usually unaware of the result of the fight. If you're watching a fight for the first time and don't know the result, that's really no different than watching a live fight, to me at least. I think a good way to do the show moving forward would be to have a live introductory episode with live entry fights, pre-record the remainder of the season (fights included), and then have a live finale 6-8 weeks later, as per usual.

I've got my thoughts on the live thing, but I will give it one or two more eps before total judgement. One funny thing though. I'm watching and this first ep Faber and Cruz aren't really going at each other. So I'm thinking/waiting for end of ep to get the sizzle reel for the season to see if they have some big moments.

And then I go doh!!! this is pseudo live most hasn't happened there aint gonna be any real to show if they do and to hype season.

I thought it was great. The fight was exciting and I like that Dominic keeps messing with Faber (picking Tickle, letting him choose the fight).

I too thought it was funny that no one wanted to fight Cruz's guy. Can't say I blame them.

I thought the live portion was excellent.

I was embarrassed for Faber. I don't blame him for not knowing what to do (makes Cruz look like a mastermind for putting him on the spot), but when he asked who wanted to fight and nobody said anything... ouch.
