What an unholy clusterf**k this whole thing has turned into. Its highly unlikely the whole truth will ever come out in this case and if it does, many people won't believe it. The facts are few, the conspiricies many. About the only thing that is for sure is that Zimmerman reported Martin to police as a questionable character, a confrontation ensued leading to a fight and Martin being shot. And thats where the insanity begins and the conspiricies have run wild.

His family portrays him as a saint who was shot down in cold blood and the racism industry has run wild with this to further their own agendas. The New Black Panther Party put a $10,000 bounty on his head dead or alive. Spike Lee tweeted his an address where he was hiding except that wasnt him and an elderly couple had to flee in fear of their lives from death threats. The President of the free world weighs in and rather than call for calm and to let the justice system investigate fully--he cuts a promo about how his mythical son would look just like Trayvon. The investigating law enforcement agency involved has been crucified for not arresting and detaining Zimmerman . And Zimmerman is in hiding fearing for his life. The media has done everything possible to fan the flames of this trying to create ratings by making this a bigger story than it is.

When it comes to light that Trayvon was suspended from school for drug paraphalia/residue, its derided by his defenders as a smear campaign. And now an eye witness has said that what they saw was Trayvon coming after Zimmerman, attacking him, banging his head into the ground and then Zimmerman shooting him. And this is NOT was the Trayvon side wants to hear so they accuse the witness of lying and it being a law enforcement cover up conspiricy.

It will probably be months from now when the investigation is complete and details released that the truth will be known but that doesnt stop the media, the racism industry and the hate groups from trying to bypass the legal system crucify Zimmerman.

And speaking of the racism industry.....why isn't LULAC coming to Zimmermans defense?

I wondered if there would be a thread about this here. I think it's reprehensible the way the media led the lynch mob here. I don't blame Martin's parents, their son is dead and it is a senseless death. Of course they want to blame Zimmerman. But the media wanted a narrative of white guy kills black guy and racist cops let him off the hook, so they manipulated the story to fit that. It's ****ing insane. From the photographs of Martin as a twelve year old instead of current pictures, to the way they edited the 911 call to make Zimmerman look like he was calling because Martin was black, to the calls for him to be arrested despite the fact there's no evidence he actually committed a crime. There is no evidence race had anything to do with it. Zimmerman didn't bring up race until the dispatcher asked what the kids race was. The audio tape that clearly shows him saying "****ing coon" is clear as mud. You have all of these ****ing idiots running around in hoodies with a handful of skittles to protest something they know nothing about. Now it's turned into a smear campaign on both sides because A. Zimmerman was getting lynched so his people tried to take some heat off of him B. The media that convicted zimmerman in the first place has to smear his character rather than admit they might be wrong. Zimmerman's people says he called because he didn't recognize Martin, Martin was walking between houses and didn't appear to be walking anywhere in particular. He had every right to call it in, and as a good neighbor and citizen he has a duty to do that. If an unknown dude is walking beside my house I hope my neighbor calls it in.

Another thing is people want him arrested and their reasoning is that a jury should decide whether his story is credible or not. That's not the way the system works. Zimmerman has to prove nothing. The burden of proof lies with the state. They need some evidence that he committed a crime, but with his story being consistent with the evidence you can't ****ing arrest him. You just can't do it. So people, MSNBC in particular, need to back the **** off. If more evidence comes out and shows that Zimmerman did something wrong then so be it. But until that happens they need to letthe investigation run it 's course.

What we know is that Zimmerman killed this teenager. We also know Zimmerman was the one with the gun. He also went in pursuit of this teenager, who he deemed "suspicious," even though a police dispatcher told him not to.
Was Martin a known criminal? What sort of "rap sheet" did he have? I've heard nothing to that effect.
What is Zimmerman, a federal marshal? He had already called police. He was not in danger. He had done his bit.
It's easy to see how people can jump to conclusions about how Zimmerman may be racist...

I found this info on a neighborhood watch site. Read #5 and #6 carefully (I bolded some key passages). Zimmerman disregarded these principles. He told the police dispatcher that "They always get away," as he reported Martin and then followed him with a gun. That was ill-advised.

The key person in any Neighborhood Watch group is the Block Captain. This person is an integral
component to keeping the block actively involved in crime prevention efforts as well as the
important process of information exchange between neighbors. Many Neighborhood Watch groups
flourish, but some dwindle while others disappear totally. How successful they are depends on the
Block Captain and the support he or she receives from neighbors.

The following is a list of recommended activities for you as a Block Captain. It is not meant to be
all-inclusive, because many Block Captains are creative in their approach. Periodically monitor the
membership of your group. Contact new residents to get them involved and to obtain their support
and participation. Update your membership list as needed. Contact the HCSO Crime Prevention
office if you have changes to the roster. If you stop serving as a Block Captain and/or if some one
takes over, contact our office.

1. Develop a neighborhood communication system to distribute vital information to neighbors
pertaining to criminal activity and other concerns that develop in the area. This can be a
periodic newsletter, telephone tree, and/or a one-page notice that can be quickly distributed.

2. You are encouraged to arrange for your group to meet socially at least twice per year to
exchange information and renew relationships as well as to get acquainted with new
neighbors. People who communicate regularly will care more about each other and be more
willing to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior. The annual National Night Out (NNO)
celebration is one example that will bring your neighbors together.

3. A follow up Neighborhood Watch program should be conducted every few years or sooner
if specific problems are occurring in your neighborhood. This should also be the case if you
have several new neighbors. Call the Crime Prevention office to arrange for a presentation.

4. Encourage neighbors to advise you concerning criminal activity. It is the victim's
responsibility to contact the police. However, you can keep a record of break-ins,
vandalism, graffiti, and/or any activity that becomes a concern for you and your neighbors.
Provide this type of information to neighbors at your next block meeting.

5. Your position as a Block Captain does not give you any law enforcement authority. You are
simply the person who facilitates the unity of the group, distributes information, and
coordinates activities. The job you are doing is important and appreciated by the Harnett
County Sheriff’s Office, but it carries no authority.

6. Remember: Our recommendation to all citizens who see a crime in progress or notice
suspicious activity is to observe and report from a place of safety. We strongly suggest that
you not confront an offender unless you are in immediate danger. This applies to you and
your neighbors. We do not want anyone to get hurt or injured trying to apprehend an
offender or interfering with an incident other than to report the activity to the police. If you
or your neighbors witness a crime in progress or observe suspicious behavior, call 911
(emergency) or 910 893-9111(non-emergency).
