    Default Greatest Metal Anthem

So many to choose from but I'm gonna go with a not so obvious one:

Judas Priest- Take on the World

    Living after midnight- priest

Rock and roll all night- kiss

    Burn- deep purple

    Schools out- alice cooper

Were not gonna take it- twisted sister

    American band- grand funk

    Spirit of radio- rush

Maybe not all metal but are rousing anthems. Kiss gets my nod as the ultimate party anthem

The term "Anthem" really makes it a narrow field. It has to be a tune that has a great hook and is a call to arms/action or is identified with a good time. Cbear has a good list. For Metallica, something like Seek and Destroy is more of an anthem imo than puppets despite puppets being the better song.

Twisted sister "We're not gonna take it" and "I wanna rock" have to be in the running.

Quite Riot "Bang your head" is a good one.

Yeah, Master of Puppets is not an anthem. In fact I don't think Metallica has any songs that can really fall under the anthem banner.

yeah, not really any true anthems I can think of. Wherever I May Roam is a bit of a road Anthem, but nothing really stands out.

Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N Roses

Not really metal, but as heavy a song as others listed here. It's a tune that gets my blood pumping every time I hear it.

Not really an anthem either. You gotta have a singalong chorus.

An Anthem should be bigger than just a catchy song. Its a call to arms...a rallying cry. Schools Out and Rockand Roll All Night best illustrate this in my op. Schools out is played every year by every radio station when school ends. THATS an anthem. And there has never been a better weekend party song than R & R all night
