They just announced the lineup for Music Midtown a few days ago. It's a music festival that takes place here in Atlanta in September. Tickets are $100 for both days. I'll probably end up going since it's so close to home. Here is who they have announced so far.

    Pearl Jam
    Foo Fighters
    The Avett Brothers
    Florence + the Machine
    T.I.
    Girl Talk
    Ludacris
    Joan Jett
    Van Hunt
    Civil Twilight
    LP
    O’Brother

Im gonna surprise everyone here by not putting up any metal. The other weekend was French Quarter Fest. Its a huge Fest with great local jazz, brass, funk, and blues artist. Being in New Orleans of course a lot of great food and drinks too. I dont take videos so here are a few youtube clips of some great acts.

Trombone Shorty always puts on an amazing show. He and his band or a combo of jazz and funk. They even cover AC/DC Back In Black.

Here is a clip of Rebirth Brass Band playing for a NOLA second line. Check out the old man in the back ground, thats Cbear busting a groove. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZXGF-v3x8Q

Here is Eudora Evans and the Deep Soul. Great musicians and she can flat out sing. Amzing voice. In the videos you just cant appreciate just how talented she really is.

Yup. Depending on work and other social commitments, I may catch music 3-4 nights a week. And of course the social committements often mix with music so its win! Wed- singer/songwriter night. Thur- Blues night. Fri & Sat- metal/rock nights. There is alot of live music in my area and if you want to you can catch live music almost every night.

Yup, that was me. Nawlins is another town with music all around you and some great players you never heard of. I love that kind of scene where you drop into a place for a beer or crawfish and some little band is tearing it up in the corner. Westbank Mike used to come over and play around here but he hasnt been around in a couple of years.

Band of Horses - Great Salt Lake

Saw them a couple of years ago, they are in my top 3 of indie rock bands

I saw OFWGKTA last summer, was a great concert but the shïtty security cut the music when Tyler staged dived. He was warned quite a few times during the concert, so can't say that it was surprising that the concert was interrupted. Was great up until that point though.
Can't find a decent live version but I guess a lot of people know this one:

Saw Them Crooked Vultures at Roskilde Festival in 2010 and that was probably the best concert of the festival.

    TCV - New Fang

I saw Iron Maiden last summer at Roskilde Festival and that was one awesome concert. They didn't play my favorite but they rarely do, so I'll post it here. It's from when they played in New Jersey as part of Flight 666:

I'm going to Fu Manchu this fall and I'm excited as hell. Will be my first time seeing them live.
This is my favorite Fu Manchu song at the moment:

They just released "Mermaid Ave - The Complete Sessions" as a box set. It's Volume I & II along with a third disc of "new" songs that didn't make the original releases. For being an outspoken commie/socialist Billy Bragg sure loves capitolism when it comes to his music career :-) Jay Farrar also just teamed up with Jim James from My Morning Jacket and others to put more old Woody lyrics to music with New Multitudes. That seems kind of strange since his ex-bandmate Jeff Tweedy had such success with the Mermaid Ave records.

I saw Chuck Pyle a few years ago as he seems to make a yearly tour through Montana. I also enjoyed Jesse Dayton's story about hooking up with Rob Zombie.
He's got a heart as big as Tito's f*cking head.

Pearl Jam are great man and I would attend just to see them. Foo Fighters and Florence + The Machine are also fun live.

Here's a song from the last PJ show I attended

Most recently saw Radiohead a couple weeks ago in San Jose, one of top 3 live bands I've seen live.

This was one of my favorite shows last year in Oakland. I saw My Morning Jacket play at the Fox Theater and they played One Big Holiday with the New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band. It was a night to remember
