Hans Schmidt (Guy La Rose) died at age 87. Schmidt was from Quebec but his gimmick was of a stereotypical nazi heel. For some odd reason, lots of Canadians played foreign heels (Ivan Koloff, The Stomper, etc...).

Another one of my all-time favorites passes away. I was fortunate enough to see him tagteam with "The Claw" Baron Von Raschke at John O'Donnell Stadium back in the early 70's. What a show it was...

Yup, as a kid, I got to see Hans when he worked the Texas territory. The Nazi heel gimmick was always over. It worked much better than the Russian and Japanese heel gimmicks in my op.
