I have what youd call a 'soft spot' in my heart for Mayhem...

One thing ive always seemed to like about him is that he is genuine. He is off his rocker, but hes genuinely off his rocker, and so forth. I never considered him to be anything better than a C+ fighter, even when he was at his best. So in a way, it never really mattered to me what he would/could do in the UFC, because deep down i never expected much. I applaud him for the way hes been able to self promote himself outside of the big leagues for the majority of his career. I thought he was a perfect fit over in Japan for DREAM in the competition he was facing, and probably the same goes for his StrikeForce run. The Mayhem we seve seen in the UFC is not the equivilent of the Mayhem that has always been... But like i said, hes only ever been a little bit better than average guy to my standard. Hes been around a long time, and it seems he may be one of those guys who just got old (athletically) over night. I wish him the best... Hes a true character, something the sport needs more of imo

He sounded like he was about to kill himself on The MMA Hour this week.
