The Mike Awesome/Tanaka matches always featured Tanaka taking some insane bump such as Awesome throwing him over the top rope flat on his back on the concrete. ouch. I dont know that this is the best stuff they could have done but I'll probably pick it up.

Several of those matches were released through RF Video.

Where do you think the footage came from. RF Video were the ones that recorded the ECW events. At the time of their release they were official for a small indy org.

Doug Gentry was really the one who was behind RF Video and the ECW tapings. After he passed away a few years back that shiithead Feinstein took over the catalogue. One of the good things to come out of it is many of the ECW RF Video VHS tapings have been converted to DVD.

Back in 2000 I caught the ECW show at the Astro Hall in Houston. It turned out that the night before in Dallas was supposed to be a TV taping but it ended up not happening and the show the next night in Houston was taped for TV. We had front row ringside and it was a damn good show with almost every star they had in attendance. Some really funny **** happened at that show that never made it on tv. I paid $20 to Doug Gentry himself and received a VHS copy of the entire show shennanigans and all. I need to dig that thing out and put it on dvd if that vhs isn't destroyed.

Pretty cool story. I didn't know ECW traveled around that far, I thought they stayed mostly in the NY/PA area.
