There is always potential for someone to break through and capture a significant audience. If GSP falls, then you bet that all of Canada will jump right behind Rory. And if the boy stays as hot as he's been, he'll garner a crowd. Seriously, if GSP can carry the $$$ as you imply, then there are so many other, more interesting and dynamic fighters who could one day do so.

While I find GSP as boring as John Cena with his ultra pure gimmick, he is very well liked especially in Canada. Rory is just plain creepy. He is turning into a hell of a fighter but he has dead fish eyes and has the demeanor of a serial killer. He might be the nices guy in the world but he ain't no GSP when it comes to personality or fan friendliness. Money players like GSP, Bart, Chxck, Randy are rare and being a great fighter doesnt necessarily translate into being a money draw. Its just like rasslin, you cant make fans like someone no matter how much you cram them down peoples throats. Dana has pushed Bones as hard as he possibly could and alot of fans still dislike him as being a fake gimmick even as they respect his fighting skills. The jury is out as to whether he becomes a GSP/BArt level money draw.

They need to turn Bones heel. It's better to greatly hated by many than mildly liked by a few. Muhammed Ali knew "heeling it up" worked well if you back it up, and Bones can back it up.

Eh, I'm pretty sure they just said that so they could've given Koscheck a shot had he won that fight. No matter how badly he loses or unimpressively he wins, the UFC swears Koscheck is like 1 fight away from a title shot at all times.

Hendrix has already voiced his displeasure over Condit saying he would be willing to fight Kampmann if GSP is out longer than expected, but that was more an issue of him thinking Condit was ducking him since he wanted to avenge his loss to Kampmann.

I don't recall an exact promise to Hendrix that he would get the next title show after beating Kos. It may have been said but I just remember Dana's usual "we'll see what happens" comments and saying "he'll be in the mix" for the title. Also, he usually prefaces it by saying it's possible with a dominant performance and either way it's not a guarantee. Lastly, there's the issue with all of the WW division being backed up, so basically if one person is being screwed they are all (except for Condit who is just watching; balls in hand).
