Can Shammy insert images in this subforum? Check your permissions for the user group you are under (moderator, I would assume) and make sure you don't have a secondary group accidentally assigned to you that doesn't allow the function.

The [IMG] /IMG] works on vB when done manually, just like the smilies. I wonder how long it's been since vB was updated? The latest is 4.2.0, it was only released last week though.

everything is on just like yours above. The photos used to work but then quit at some point. I tried to use the icon and then manually. Ill try again first with my ipad and then with my laptop. On a side note, my laptop freezes up occasionally when I try to post here--not always, but usually after Ive posted some long brilliant post that isnt easy to retype.

Good news. My old contact for help is alive and well--emails had changed after the buyout was completed and that info didnt get passed down the chain to me. They will look into the spam autobot issue.

Cbear, this is the image you are posting... which is kinda incorrect. Ideally, you need it to look like: hxxp://www.somedomain.com/whatever/the/url/is/for/the/image.jpeg (or .jpg or .gif)

Can you explain how you are doing this on your i-device? You should be doing something like Copy Image URL and put that in the image tags. That webkit-fake-url you are posting will never work.

I tried one from the url thingie by cut and paste. For some reason, nothing seems to be working using my ipad. I should be able to copy a photo and then using the photo icon, insert the url--but nothing shows up. the box is empty. when I paste the url inside the box here, the photo does show up until I hit post reply, then the little box shows up. I hate technology.
